The reason for Jacob to be in the movie is for the deer to bow to him. The entire movie is built around Jacob becoming the PURE OF HEART NEXT LEADER WHATEVER, but at the last minute the movie does "chooses easy over good", and makes the dear bow to Dumbledore instead. Edit: you mentioned it, Yeah!

the first Fantastic Beasts movie was actually the first movie in the Harry Potter franchise that I've seen. I never really was interested in the Harry Potter stuff, but a fun adventure movie with people discovering magical animals sounded great! but then we got some dumb Grindelwald and Ezra Miller stuff and the first movie already totally lost me towards the end ...

When Spencer mentioned that he’d been on paternity leave, I remembered that because Spencer came off paternity leave and rewrote the stinger, making it channel the anger he channeled at the start of this video towards the franchise.

The only couple of cool fighting moments in the movie were when Lally, a charms expert, used books and other things from the surrounding environment in creative ways. More charms please!

If they start this franchise over yet again, they really need to bring in someone to do what Alfonso Cuaron did for Prizoner of Azkaban. He did such a great job focusing on the little moments of wonder and making the mundane magical with his visual flair.

Colin Farrel had great sexual chemistry with Credence. To this day I think that there was a romance plot there that was dropped for Movie 2 and kinda revived for Movie 3.

Every one of the proposed alternative HP movies (Newt/Brian Fellowes documentary series included) sounds brilliant, someone please make them all. To my dying day, I will never understand how they planned *five movies* for this story and yet still can’t seem to find time to develop anything properly or make anything make sense.

I believe that Claudia Kim was out due to maternity leave, so that explains her absence. It does not, however, explain why nobody seemed to even remember her character.

I didn't watch this movie which seems to be a theme lol, but, like, I've heard they really do just handwave that Tina isn't there because of her promotion or whatever and I get the real world reasons she probably wasn't there, but, like, plotwise, her sister joined up with Wizard Hitler and is presumably in grave, grave danger. Why would she be doing anything other than trying to save her sister?

A prequel series that shows us the middle of events, ignoring the big moments that we should be focusing on, loves standing around and talking, focusing on the bureaucratic decisions that led to this point, that rejects much of the heart and aesthetic that brought people to this franchise in the first place but has one or two examples of legitimately good casting that could be great in a better written movie... This is sounding familiar.

I’d argue the prequels actually had a very good concept and weren’t afraid of trying to say something about the subjects they depicted. For every example in 1-3 of poor execution was also matched with moments of greatness or inspired ideas. Also helps to not have been written by a truly awful creator without any talent left.

Movie fight : sorry Danielle but a Harry Potter reboot in a poorly founded American college, I have absolutely no interest into. Lon's idea is wayyyy better, making a saga over the founders of Hogwarts, that's dope. In fact any saga being the American adaptation of a previously told foreign saga, is just lazy writing and a cash grab.
