This trilogy means so much to me. I was about 10 or 9 when the first when came out and now I’m 19, but what’s great about this trilogy is not that I grew up with it but that the characters grew with the audience as well.

These movies are so great that the honest trailer had to make fun of over 40 other movies to make the trailer as long as it is.

Hiccup and Toothless are great inspirations to disabled kids. By the end of the first movie, both are missing important body parts and yet they find a way to be great in spite of it.

Bee Movie was strange for its interspecies relationship, but this is Dreamworks and they've had a donkey/dragon (Shrek), hippo/giraffe (Madagascar) and panda/tiger (Kung Fu Panda). Maybe Dreamworks likes that trope LOL

They do have personalities, the tv show is one of the best series ever made

*How to Make a Good DreamWorks Movie*

If you want to see more character developments, the cartoon Network and Netflix series are great. They show the progression of the dragons assimilation into Berk's culture, how the characters mature over time, and the series explore the world of dragons a lot. There are characters that don't enter the films, my understanding is that it's very intentionally set up so there isn't crossover. That way you can enjoy the movies without needing to see the show, and vice versa

Note to self: We shouldn't do Honest Trailers on near perfect movies... yawn.

It's a solid movie series, and the trailer reflects that. Have you guys watched the Netflix series? The supporting characters actually get a decent chunk of character development in that (...which the 2nd movie sort of seems to undo in favor of a dumb love triangle). Fishlegs actually gets a girlfriend who's initially introduced in the first season and developed over time, but unfortunately she's not in the movies. The first seasons that aired on Cartoon Network were very much a typical kids show, but the Netflix series did some great character development and long-form storytelling across multiple seasons. The finale of the Netflix series ties directly into the 2nd movie. I'd love to see another set of shows connecting the second movie to the third, though I don't know how much they'd want to make one after the 3rd movie is done.

To be fair, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Ruffnut and Tuffnut have had amazing character development in Dragons: Race to the Edge. Their personalities had really peaked in the bonus series. Maybe they should’ve shown it better in the second and third movies, though

Oh my god, finally, I saw this in gold class the second it came out and I'm literally tearing up just watching the clips. I don't know why but I'm dangerously emotionally invested in a series that has now pretty much ended... Greeeaat

This movie trilogy is my all time favourite. Saw the first one at least 10 times, last two i went to the cinema on premier date. The 3rd movie had me chokin on my tears :) But i chuckled on this trailer a lot. Great job guys.

I watched the third movie just yesterday... What an ending to a brilliant franchise. As a 25-year-old it's probably one of my favorite animated movies in recent years.

You forgot to mention that it is based of off a amazing book series where almost every plot is the compete opposite

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! This is my favorite franchise ever and this trailer was great. Loved all the refrences with the starring bit, though toothless could just as easily have been, Bat-Cat Dog-Lizard. Love it

When I saw a billboard for "How To Train Your Dragon 3", I did my own honest trailer in my head and at the end I renamed it "How To Beat A Dead Horse". (The other name would've been "How To Milk A Franchise".)
