My first phone was a Nokia and it had 2 lights on each side that flashed different colours, that phone was bomb proof.

I love the review. You are basically one of the main reviewers that ACTUALLY reviews. You tell what is good and what is average FOR THAT PRICE POINT! And you DON'T compare a 200 Dollar Phone to a 800 Dollar one. For that, you've earned my sub and like!

Micro USB is not d problem. Usb type c is d problem bcoz u can't find it everywhere if u wan to chrge it.usb type c wil be comon evrywhr aftr 2 to 3 yrs .

Its the prototype (or whatever is given to you) model which is given to you i guess thats why u are unable to install tutu if its bought from the market i guess than you will be able to download benchmark apps.

How is the RAM management? Can you resume instantly apps that you already opened? Or do the apps load again from the start when resumed?

Shorten the EMUI animations and it's going to be as quick or even quicker than stock Android. And it's going to last longer than stock Android which slows down after a few mionths.

From the sounds of it you live in the UK and I can see you are using the red version which wasn't released in the UK. Does the red version support the UK LTE network providers? There is a lack of clarity because some sites say different things

You mention many times "for the price" but, unless I missed it, you never mention what the price is and what phones would be comparably priced. And the flickering colorshift in your video is very annoying -- just want to provide constructive feedback

That's because it is priced differently around the world. I see a 100$ difference sometimes between ebay and local retailers, and that is including shipping and VAT.

Yeah, that would be nice, but since content creators can see statistics and know from what country most of their viewers are coming from, they usually just refer to the price of their biggest demographic..

Only cons for me are the miro-usb and the lack of image stabilization, the latter being quite insignificant because you shouldn't expect a phone that costs less than 250 to take great pictures anyways. If you do want to take pictures, make sure you've got a steady hand or something else to keep it steady.

When will Huawei Company optimize the camera quality even more better in the future? Because many of the videos that I watched about 8x the cameras exposure rear side is so worst than the front one so they have to fix this issue. Everything is find except the Camera quality I'm really disappointed.

Its really good on full screen on Netflix. Probably one of the best experiences with the bezel and design of the phone. It's like your there like VR because its so HD and so thin bezel.

Been using a Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual SIM since 2014. [ A phablet ] Will migrate to the Honor 8X in a few weeks time. It ticks all the boxes : Dual SIM without sacrificing on memory / storage expandability (given the separate memory card slot); NFC; 64 GB internal storage; plenty of WiFi bands supported. Could you please rate the phone call quality, the ability to remain connected to network. Reviewers spend too much time on the camera, forgetting that it is a phone first, and camera later.

To anyone hesitating on the performance... I've been using Xiaomi devices (Max 3, A2) with a Snapdragon 636 and 660 respectively, and I don't notice a difference vs my Note 9. I actually prefer the devices to the Note 9 especially considering price What I'm trying to say is, performance day to day should be absolutely fine. If that's what you're worried about, go for it! :)

In South East Asia many phones are still in micro usb and USB type c are rare in here so it's okay for me :--)

I have turned the notch off since the first 5 minutes I owned the phone. Got rid of the traditional navigation controls and use gesture input. Really fell in love with this phone. Great display, decent rear camera (for the price), nice design, a headphone jack, nice blue colour, smooth operation......... and able to use 2 sim card while having a micro sd in the phone.

I ended up going with the honor play over this, although the screen is better on this smaller bezel and no bottom bezel, the micro usb is a deal breaker for me as my previous LG G5 used USB C and going back from a phone that came out at the start of 2016 would just feel bad. Also, the honor play has a faster SoC Kirin 970 which is nice and was only £20 more

@@bigmastermind1 Its a two-day battery. I didn't notice any stutter, but I am using it since just few days. If you need a USB C and a stronger processor plus metal build you can still get the Honor Play for 50€ more.

I like the format, but you talk about the price a lot, without actually saying what that price IS! The actually price needs to be stated very clearly right near the beginning and a couple time throughout with mention of the price of other phones like the Note 9. And agreed with Richard Landgren about the video transitions are too jarring.

Review very nicely done. My only comment is that EMUI sorta ruins launchers. Yes you can use a launcher but EMUI keeps overriding the launcher forcing you to relaunch it.

Watching this on my Honor 8x. Only thing i didn't like on this phone is its low sound output via 3.5mm jack compared to my old Samsung S6. Music in Spotify is distorted/clipping even in high quality mode and its very noticeable as im using iems. I had to buy headphone amplifier (Topping NX1s). Not recommended for audiophiles.

I purchased this phone for media use, with its large Screen and long lasting battery, and its very good at doing this at a reasonable price, being able to take a few snapshot photos is a bonus as my main phone is a Blackberry a great communication device but not best for media.

I like the new layout for budget phones. I LOVE that it finally has NFC but the micro charger is stupid lame. You never mentioned the price of the device that's pretty important.

I went to buy this phone yesterday, but upon checking the phone myself, I was actually put off! The sounds were low with no depth, even on earphones. The notification light was virtually non existent, even if you look thru a magnifying glass! Apart from those, the phone looked really beautiful and the display quality excellent. But personally I need a good audio output and a visible notification light. So I ended up not buying this phone that I was crazy about for some time. 😟

Just bought my Honor 8x three days ago and the only issue i noticed is when watching videos or photos on facebook and ig, the graphic is so bad. My more cheaper Oppo a37 has even better graphic.
