He has always loved the mother from a young age. He only married the daughter to stay close to the mother, because she rejected him. The mother knows in her heart that nothing can ever happen between the two. But I think in her heart she wished it was possible. The movie is actually innocent and the main leads never meant to hurt anyone. It's a great but tragic love story. Who can define what our hearts choose. In the end when the mother in law gets killed he chooses to be with her. To me it's as if he can't live in a world where she doesn't exist. Bear in mind I watched this without subtitles so it's my interpretation. Call me a masochist, but I think it ended the way it should have. And don't bother watching if you're cynical about the age gap. Who are you to define what love is.

i just watched this omg he really is a good actor!! when he got popular i thought hes just another super handsome but mediocre actor but after watching this i'm sure one day with experience he'll be on the same par as kang dong won is now. you guys really have to watch this 67mins drama. seriously!! the story is so good and the way the story was enacted was realistic. really love this!!!

Yeah, he fell in love with the mom years before, they found each other again, fell in love with each other but because of the age gap, she technically couldn't. However, the mom is his first love and she left him twice. Her daughter who fell in love with him, misunderstood his affection for the mom and thought it was for herself. They ended up getting married, to which we realize in this scene, he only married the daughter to be with the mom forever.
