In this video, I'll show you how to cast acrylic paint using the Swing and Swipe technique, creating a cellular structure on a black background.
I have used the following mixing ratio for the colors:
🔴 40% acrylic paint (bit.ly/AcrylicPaintBoesnerScene)
🔴 40% Floetrol (Pouring Medium - bit.ly/Floetrol)
🔴 20% water
🔴 10 drops of silicone oil (bit.ly/SiliconeOil_cst100 )for each color
The cell formation is extremely enhanced by the silicone oil. You can also use a heat-gun to maximize this effect. But you do not have to.
🔴 The canvas size was 20x50cm (bit.ly/canvas50x20cm)

i get that this might be a more unpopular opinion but i really liked the finished product; while it certainly looked nice halfway through, i thought the smearing gave it the visual complexity needed to bring it together as a *_picture_* rather than just a nice colourful pattern. but you know, beauty's in the eye of the beholder and all that.

cute mess I loved the finished product as well! Yes there was a point where I was thinking hmm I think it looks good there just stop. But it’s not me creating so not my call. Art is subjective. And the finished product is beautiful. I kinda wanna go pour now and do this the same but with different colors and make that line in the middle 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I don’t have any silicone oil so mine won’t look like this and I can’t go get any today so I can’t scratch the itch 😩 lol

It seemed like around 7:08 you got a bit too concerned about how the black corners were not uniform (lacking color) with the rest of the piece and attempted to manually fix it which led to less and less desirable results each time as it counter acted the natural flow of the piece and original pouring technique. It looked just fine with the black corners. Bob Ross even teaches that darker corners bring the focus more to the center of the piece. Should have kept it there in my opinion as it looked fantastic. Otherwise tilting the piece to correct the corners would have been a better approach to filling in the color as it would not disrupt the flow of paint.

NocturnalState OfMind it doesn’t take that long. Mine are seemingly dry in about 24 hours but I know that is a lie and it just wants me to touch it and ruin it 🤣 I dunno about everyone else but I can just look at mine and know yep it’s dry. I leave mine sit overnight on a tray to let it kinda set in before I jostle it moving to a rack where it dries for about 3 days. The first 12 hours is the hardest because I have cats and I’m always wondering “am I gonna wake up to that fresh pour being knocked over and having a cat shaped silhouette complete with fur and paint paw prints throughout my house with paint slowly dripping off the canvas and onto the floor????” But so far (knock on wood) I haven’t had that problem 😂

Hi John. I read the comments. I did like it early BUT!!!!!!!!!!!! People must know creative work is an iterative process. Part of what makes one a good artist is experimentation and risk taking. Sometimes I destroy passages of work for either the higher good OR because I’m curious! We artists are sensitive so kindly take heart! Personally, I feel that there was a lot of wasted potential here. You really had something great to work with at 6:15. At that moment in time, with some black still left at the edge, it looked like a tree, left to rot, facing the break of a new day. But that's the great thing about art, isn't it? That's how I personally feel about it. If you like your end result, and others like it as well, then that's great! Keep doing what you do. Even though I'm not a fan of the end result, you work like you know what you're doing, and you do know what you're doing! You are very talented, even if I'm not a fan of what those talents have led to in this video, it's impossible to say that you are unskilled.

What is Art the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Please do not try to improve on this person work, as to that would defeat the whole purpose of art... the painting is exactly what it is meant to be.. no more, no less this is art...like or not.

Gitts The Skittle the fact that you even felt the need to state that you don’t like how his creation turned out is actually you offering a suggestion on how he can improve on his work. Really quite a backhanded comment, you’ve tried to disguise your personal criticism of someone else’s work as a compliment. If you weren’t trying to offer up a suggestion of improvement then I wonder why you bothered stating your criticism in the first place when you yourself stated that art and opinions on art are subjective.

@@lilymcalister1825 You have a disturbed sense of balance between ugliness and beauty. That is why you do not notice that something beautiful has been destroyed. And art is used to admire beauty and not ugliness.

I'm amazed at how my comments don't see the theme you were going for. Yes it was cool (but unoriginal) before, but the finished result was very creative. Love how it was hot and cold, and went from what looks like icebergs, to a flaming cauldron! Very cool!
