That has been our experience for a few weeks now as well. Virtually every single game is the same thing: HE spam from behind islands, torp hell from every direction, you can't punish ships showing you full broadside, subs are no better than before, CV planes hitting you 3 times in 30 seconds, and most ships are so passive they just shoot from 20+km away. It has made the game boring and frustrating. I miss the brawling style battles!

iirc, NA is actually the least passive server, followed by EU, and then finally SEA is almost entirely passive

What would you think about removing concealment and manual secondary for CQC, super heavy ap and increase fire chance?

I think the best build is where you replace those secondary skills with improved repair party readiness and furious. Gives you an extra heal and faster heals. Furious synergizes with the F key.

Its a Montana thats built for midrange fighting. It's probably got amazing AA protection but that would require CV's in every game.

With the floatyness of the shells you should be aiming lower in the water than you are for most shots. You will not get citadels unless your shells land a bit lower (against battleships). Aim it like an AP Des Moines and you will see better results.

Quick question, does anyone actually grind out a whole branch from I - X? From what I've seen it probably takes like 3 months(for one branch)?

Yeah that's the thing, Maine (and Montana/Iowa) guns have the worst BB AP penetration at T10 and T12. (At least for real BB's with 406 mm and larger guns. Burger and other fake BB's are still worse of course.) Even slight angles are enough to shatter Monty AP. For example, Yamato main belt armor, when 90 degrees flat broadside, is still immune to Montana AP outside of ~16.5 km. You can still citadel it through the cheek or angled part of the deck (both of which are thinner than the main belt) but trying to hit those specific parts outside 16 km is purely RNG. So yeah, that Yamato at a 60 degree angle at 11.7 km and the Soyuz at a 50 degree angle at 13.5 km are still enough to shatter Monty AP.

I still say Satsuma is the only super BB worth the credits. This looks awesome and it would probably be a blast in asymmetric but randoms aren’t the place for battleships anymore.

Secondary Worcester build when?

It might be a new ship but it's Iowa/Montana guns and I think they've been severely power crept. I don't think the USA 16 inch shells have enough pen for the current state of the game. Insufficient overmatch and a lack of pen, as well as poor ballistics. Not a good thing. This thing seems like a tier 10.5 in a game when we have tier 12 and 13 superships.

Don't blame the game that you didn't remember the Benham. That's your job as the player to keep that sort of stuff in mind. You even run the mod that shows the ship names of each side so the bad is on you, not the game.

This game has become very inconsistent on shell damage, penetration, and citadels. We are really seeing this dynamic in clan battles. Now in random battles I have had 3 subs and a carrier multiple times. I have also had strange matches coming out of MM, like 6x6. I wasn't in quote long and it was late afternoon.

We feel your pain brother. Don't stress it. This game really only supports CVs and Subs these days. The good ole days of Surface ships brawling and kicking each others butts is long gone. That's why a lot of folks crave Airship escort. Bring back the feel of "Old WoWs"

Try play Pommern in this meta 😆... tell me how well that went? .... Pommern is irrelevant and should be removed/lowered to tier 7 or get seriously buffed.... Regarding HE, I think thats a real eu server thing, you can't expect paying 12year olds (they have access to parents credit card, so they have to serve them) to know what aim is, so HE is the only way to go..and feels like HE is super buffed, even a missed shot from the enemy makes my ship burst in flames 🤷🏼

Even the Patrie shooting at PQ was missing shots on either side and doing no damage. This is why I hardly play anymore, they destroyed BBs ability to do massive damage which is why they are in the game.. they always nerf any cruiser or BB when they become slightly competitive but just leave subs alone even though they are outright OP. rip

This game would be infinitely better if random battles were 9v9 instead of 12v12. Players would actually be able to push, BBs could have fun, DDs and Cruisers could play a lot more tactical, Double CV wouldn't have to be a thing, things like Krakens would be more meaningful and just overall it wouldnt be as messy.

It's a shame they didn't give those secondaries their irl reload. They were designed to fire every 1.5 seconds, but downgraded to around 2.1 seconds on the production models.

WG should just do us all a favor and remove BBs from the game since they've turned into nothing more than farm-able XP / credit cows. And PQ, the only US BB in the game worth doing secondary build is the Ohio. The Maine is a pure sniper, a brawler it is not. Not with a citadel that is 3 meters above the water.

AA and ASW are surface ships primary concerns right now. Play Worcester, or other AA platforms, got all in on that and airstrike. Make CVs and subs miserable until they stop playing them.

Major rule for BBs: Do not try to push, unless your flank is secured or half of the enemy team is dead. As a main Mecklenburg player, I can feel the frustration. I tried every possible build on this ship, but still the full secondary build is the most successful, not because of the pushing, aggressive play ability, but because of the better AA defense and the better DD defense and the better kiting ability. 12.5km is the death zone when ships come close, when you are in a defensive stance. Aggressive BBs are mostly early sunk these days. If there is a sub on your side, just change side. There is a great chance, the sub is coming only for you and if you are bow on to the enemy you are dead. Subs do what they want to other ships and it is almost impossible to get them, WHEN they are smart enough to NOT ping and your own sub player dumb enough to NOT use its sub detection. Ships like the Maine w/o any kind of reconnaissance are NOT able to defend themselves w/o the help of ships that are able to clear subs/DDs. So you are just a damage farm for everyone in the game. I had games, with the Meckle, where pretty much everyone from across the map were shooting at me, instead the open DDs or cruiser who were much closer to the enemy. The bigger, the easier, the more damage to farm.... that is how the game works today.
