That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the feedback. I do think another big factor could just be that the circuit is more stable in the 3 turn configuration and the plasma toroid is having less of an effect on the waveform, and distortions of the magnetic field aren't amplified as much leading to more stable plasma. That's all theory though. 😁

@@kiblybuiltit3304 The circuit certainly needs tweaking as other people who have done toroids seem to be running under 20W. Something is definitely not optimal there. First thing I'd do is swap out the thick solid wire on the primary for multi-strand to reduce skin effect losses.

It is, as I said, a commendable achievement. Unless, of course, you belittle this person by thinking about him only as a young teen. My question is from a teacher point of view. The video shows one of many printed circuits available, I wonder which one was used, and the globe itself was something really hard to make. Apparently, the one that is used has a brand on the glass, which I couldn't read. It would be interesting to know the source. Not that you actually care, but if you think about what I asked, it was implied I wanted information pertinent to his own experience since, you know, any idiot can google 😉
