In this video I went through the journey of making my own plasma toroid. It took way too long.

Very cool seeing another person do this. until now i think only a few people have successfully made a plasma toroid and posted it on UKposts, The science behind it i believe was only recently re discovered and put out their for free, it's cool to see these machines being made and used. The glass orb like thing filled with whatever gas it's filled with is the most expensive part from what i remember from watching another Video as in the orb is usually obtainable for Hundreds of Dollars in USD. I'm not sure why The Orb costs so much tho. Perhaps it's mostly to do with the cost of the Gas itself.
@j.lietka940619 днів тому
Mwa- hahaha! Mad scientist!! Did you use an existing schematic to start this project? Is there a vacuum in the glass ball / sphere you finally bought? Thank you 🤓 I would like to see different colors if possible. It turned out fantastic! Congratulations on winning an award!

@electrovoltmce20 днів тому
You need thicker wires, and you have to put a fan on the power transistor - and most importantly - a voltage source with the option to limit the current. Maybe in the future you can put an audio DAC, where your plasma can dance to the music - DON'T RUSH - YOU HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD.

@teardowndan536424 дні тому
The gapped (outside) coil works better than the contact coil (inside) likely because the gap greatly reduces capacitive coupling between the coil and glass. It is also much easier to maintain even capacitive coupling all around to minimize distortion with a consistent insulation gap than wire-to-glass contact.
@kiblybuiltit330424 дні тому
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the feedback. I do think another big factor could just be that the circuit is more stable in the 3 turn configuration and the plasma toroid is having less of an effect on the waveform, and distortions of the magnetic field aren't amplified as much leading to more stable plasma. That's all theory though. 😁
@teardowndan536424 дні тому
@@kiblybuiltit3304 The circuit certainly needs tweaking as other people who have done toroids seem to be running under 20W. Something is definitely not optimal there. First thing I'd do is swap out the thick solid wire on the primary for multi-strand to reduce skin effect losses.

@SuperGuirro If this is how you spend your energy, maybe you should rethink your life choices.
@SuperGuirro24 дні тому
@@GustavoValdiviesso it actually took me 10 seconds to give you a lesson. If you don't have the capability of googling the stuff yourself, just give up honestly, building it will be impossible for you.
@GustavoValdiviesso24 дні тому
@SuperGuirro Ow, I see now. From my question, you got the impression that I can't google. Or rather, you know everyone can, but this is your roundabout way to say I am lazy. Fortunately for me, I have had my own plasma doughnut for a few years now, and based on how much effort it took back then, I was really impressed by this video. It is, as I said, a commendable achievement. Unless, of course, you belittle this person by thinking about him only as a young teen. My question is from a teacher point of view. The video shows one of many printed circuits available, I wonder which one was used, and the globe itself was something really hard to make. Apparently, the one that is used has a brand on the glass, which I couldn't read. It would be interesting to know the source. Not that you actually care, but if you think about what I asked, it was implied I wanted information pertinent to his own experience since, you know, any idiot can google 😉
