How I Make Realistic Trees in Blender for free

I will show you my step by step process for creating realistic trees in blender and at the end of this video we are going to test them against paid trees to see if it's worth buying paid tree assets or not.

Great tutorial mate, cheers, and just to mention - any leaf image on a white background will do, and Gimp is a great free image manipulation software to easily add alpha channels ! Again - Great stuff!

@@bro-3d The only 2 things I have been having trouble with are 1: when trying to make the leaves transparent, they aren't doing so. Instead the gap just remains black or any other color besides transparent (even with alpha going to the other alpha) and 2: F9 rarely brings back the menu once you click off. Can these be resolved?

@@riellerthecreeper Make sure the image is transparent and it should be in .png format. Try using this one www.pngwing.com/en/free-png-zuepz The f9 will only work if you haven't done any action such as move, rotate, scale. After that if you press F9 it will show you the settings of last done action

@@riellerthecreeper There is some setting that let's you set ALPHA HASHED so you need a transparent PNG image, run the alpha to alpha as shown here AND set it to ALPHA HASHED and view in rendered mode and it will for sure get rid of the black edges.

@@galaxynael714 The animation has to be added when initially creating the tree. In his tutorial he didn't mention that at first so when I did it originally I had to redo the tree because I didn't realize the animation had to be created. What you have to do is follow the steps like normal, but don't click out of the creating tree menu and follow his animation steps that come later in the video. Does that help?

I don't see a menu with tree settings. The menu that is located in your video is in the lower left corner (1:05). Please tell me how to enable it. I have the default blender configuration. I didn't change anything after installation except adding a plugin.

I figured it out. The problem was that I first added the tree and then deleted the starting cube. It was important to first remove the cube and then add the tree.

The tutorial was really helpful until the point where I needed to reopen the generator menu. Hitting F9 resulted in a lot of nothing and I would have to redo everything to get it animated.....

no, not really. If you explore other paid and free options they would generally be 300,000 , most commonly 500,000 and 1,000,000. And some even 5,000,000 and I'm not kidding
