That is the number of individual armor pieces, not combinations (which should be even higher)! And there are even more if you consider leather armor

There are total 616 trim of armor styles get them all with each armor like iron gold diamond and Netherite armor

Now with dyed leather

You can use no template in a piece of armor so there is actually more convinations, only thing is you can not apply colors to it then. Also you cant just do x4 becouse thats just adding instead of multiplying the odds, so for example imagine there is only 2 armors with no templates or colors, would you do 1x1x2x4?(1 for 1 template "no template" another 1 for color "no color" 2 for how many armors there are and 4 for the pieces of armor) NO thats only 8 convinatios and there is actually 16! thats why u multiply the odds so its (1x1x2)(1x1x2)(1x1x2)(1x1x2) so you get the total number of combinations, 16.
