After the asphalt, first put the grass, then the gravel and then some asphalt before the wall as the asphalt could serve as an outside lane for damaged cars to get out of the way (unlike what we've seen in Qatar). It is also way out of reach for anyone else so there's no way to abuse it without losing time though the grass and asphalt

@@LegendaryPredecessor The surface was very tricky at Hungary and it's the only time Bottas has done it. Lewis backed off in Silverstone despite being only a little off the apex. He only clipped Max by a couple Millimeters. He would have DNFed if not for the Red Flag. You can do something completely legal and have a huge crash...sudden mechanical problems for example. It's the intent and rules. If the Director has the power to suddenly toss aside the rules. The Director doesn't have the job to balance out luck or create a great show.

Also, Max had the better car on 14-15 tracks this season. Max did better than Seb in 2018, but Sir Lewis is still the standard.

I'm fuming too and I'm not a Ham fan. This destroys the sport completely, taking a way a victory with made up rules on the spot is a big no. Today it was Lewis, tomorrow is Lando, George, Sains or Leclerc.

I appreciate how well Lewis handled the situation. I was glad to see Max win but there were plenty of controversies that Lewis could have complained about but instead, he shook Max's hand and congratulated him as only a true champ would. Hamiltons Da is also a top man.

Lewis didn’t left the podium and congratulate Max. Max attitude on Jeddah was shameful and sorry but this is not a champion attitude. Overall, Lewis showed who was the best driver. Being Max, I would feel sorry and not fully happy about that championship as he did all those efforts during this long season to simply get a « gift » at the end. This is not how competitors want to win.

The only one that had anything to do with Ham was Copse where Hamilton missed the apex by 1 1/2 feet. The least bad incident wheel to wheel between them all season. Max got half points for Spa win, in a farce. He took Hamilton out intentionally at Monza & got a grid penalty that he lucked out of because of last lap rain in Sochi. He intentionally hit Hamilton again in Jeddah and tried to hit him twice in Brazil.

Yes, exactly my feelings. After everything going Lewis/Mercedes way this season, I'm not getting heartburn about Spa and one safety car going Max's way. That being said, the FIA needs to do some soul-searching this off-season about more than safety cars. Track limits and mid-season technical regulation changes come to mind.

Yes. Both Ham and Max got played with in this season. Especially the last races. Sometimes lewis won because max got penalised and sometimes max because of the same reason. I love to see max happy but i would love to see which one is actually tge best because this season both were equal and with real racing it would be decided. But no. It's quite annoying how a lot of F1 journalists and pundits are giving non-answers and tiptoeing around the issue. But if they're employed by F1 then I can't say I'm that surprised.

Let’s put it this way, in any sport it’s points on the board that matter. With football for example, U can’t claim u deserve to win just because you had the ball the most of the time & leading 1-0 for most of the game then conceded 2 goals at the end. The end result is you lost 2-1. That’s all that matters not that you led most of the game or had possession most of the time.

Then they said unlap cars would stay put so Lewis would still have some gap and he could still hang on to win so they decided not to pit. Once Max had pitted, then came the reversed decision to put Max aside Lewis. Old tires versus new, Masi and anyone with half a brain knows the outcome already. It's rigged. It's a setup and letting 5 cars through only has never been done before, it's illogical, it's illegal and is blatant cheating. Go research on the subject and see the sequence of events before you speak. You'd be amazed how ridiculous the situation was.

@@bx8383 Under safety car the lap cars never stay put, if they were going to in this situation it was only because they didn't have have the time to wave them around Which is what they thought at 1st but the wreck got cleaned up quicker than expected and ended up having the time To get all of the lap cars that would affect the race out of the way. The lap cars had no effect at all on red bull or Mercedes decision to pit or not. They were always going to do the opposite of each other regardless. The late safety car definitely threw a wrinkle in their strategy but suggesting it is rigged and that the FIA made the decision they did in order to give Max the win is absurd and is in my opinion a week argument. The situation was complicated and there was very little time But it was not rigged I guess what you wanted to happen was for the FIA to make a decision that insured Hamilton's victory. I'll be glad to respectfully and objectively debate this with anyoneBut it's hard to do so with someone who's take is it was rigged. It's hard to have a debate with someone who's opinion is so biased and complete lacking any objectivity. Take care.

In all fairness, I think the controversy is mostly limited to the UK. For example, the difference in newspaper covers between papers in the UK and those in the rest of the world spoke volumes. I mean, even as a Dutchman I will admit that it was controversial, but so would ending the final race under a safety car be. Nevertheless, most of us moved on. Mercedes still keeping its media silence and not showing up to the F1 gala is absolutely damaging to their brand, to the sport itself and even to their own crew and drivers. No word on Bottas' last day. No word on the constructor's title. No word on Nyck de Vries' Formula E win (I mean, he's being robbed of the gala as well).
