There is no such thing as too many outlets and maybe even one outside? Just my two cents from working in my craft room and never having an outlet in the right spot! 😁

Yessss. I am planning to put one every 6 feet. I hope that is enough!!

@@ThriftDiving I would put 2 plugs every 6 feet and add one outside too. You can't have too many. Ask the electrician about a "whole house surge protector" that protects all outlets, lights, tools, computers, TVs, Cameras, etc. I believe they connect to your panel box.
@tawanawatson3052

And personally, I think the days of hiding outlets is over. If you have the power you should put it where you need it.

Eventually you won’t have time for this channel, with all your new obligations. And that’s growth. We will understand and be happy for you. It’ll mean we can catch you on tv shows, morning shows, talk shows, commercials, conventions, etc. And that’s where you belonged from the start. No one deserves it more. Very stoked for you. 💃🏻👍🙌🏻

This is great. Love the size of the shed. A few of suggestions: 1) Add more than one outlet underneath the workbench. Don’t think you’ll regret it. 2) Consider adding CAT wiring. Never know, it might come in handy. 3) Put in a ramp at the double doors entrance. You might need to roll in materials on a dolly, and navigating over steps with a dolly could prove problematic. 4) If possible, have a switch in your house to operate the lights on the exterior of the shed, so you’ll have lighting if you need to walk out there in the dark. But also there’ll be switches in the shed to operate the lights too. As for the window boxes, check to see if there’s any knock out plugs for water drainage. Your plants will thank you for it. 😉 Good luck with the finishing. 😊

Switch at house to turn on outside light at the shed is the BEST IDEA.. I wish you had TOLD me that sooner..LOL.. I have a motion light... that turns OFF when I'm half way to the house.. Arrgg What is CAT wiring ?

The outtakes were great! Thanks for sharing so much information on your build. That's wonderful your teachers are willing to give you help if you need it. Here where I live if you pour a concrete floor for a structure you have to pay taxes on it. If it has gravel or on supports it isn't considered permanent so you don't. I'll check out your podcasts. Ramps!!! Add ramps to both your doors; don't think you'll ever regret that. I'd suggest some sort of window awnings to open windows, and maybe doors, even in rain. Security cameras. Solar lights/motion detector. Extra outlets are always appreciated. Staging area for your work?? And a mini fridge (wink)

Hoping Tuff shed put in a real 3/4” plywood floor deck on the floor joists versus using particle board. Just helped a friend saw out his old 1”particle board floor deck because it was not sealed from moisture on the under side properly and started caving-in. (Particle board is very sensitive to moisture). The other consideration is the equipment and heavy items you will put on this floor.

You have a wonderful shed, your vision for the design is perfect. I have found windows take too much wall space and provide window shoppers an opportunity to free shop. Now I wish I had installed the sky lights. Thanks for the cartwheel and positive energy.
@ThriftDiving
@ThriftDiving 2 роки тому
Windows defintely take up space! Thankfully, these windows are too big so I still have plenty of wall space (I hope!). For me, lots of natural light was most important. I wanted a happy place to create and work, not necessarily a place to store a bunch of crap, so I will definitely have to take a minimalistic approach to what I decide to bring in! Lol As for the skylights, you can always add those! In fact, I even thought that one day I may upgrade to better ones. Maybe ones with motorized blinds!

Don’t know how i found your channel but your incredible. I like that you show your kids too! They should be very proud of you!! I will watch more later. I was searching for insulating a shed. I have a tuff shed also but much smaller and want to install a mini split A/C to keep my tools from getting rusted. In Florida with major heat and humidity. I don’t want to drywall just insulate…hope I can do that.

Hey David! Glad you found me! You could insulated and then cover it up with a bead board or something to make it pretty but isn't as labor-intensive or expensive as drywall! :) I'm waiting on my mini split. It's been ordered for 3 weeks and still waiting. It's still hot in there because of the many skylights and windows. I'm about to make roller shades, too, with blackout fabric. Good luck with your shed!!

I remember the 80k quote. They had a longer time frame too. This looks great. Way to go on the cartwheel!!

Yessss...they were saying it would take like 6 weeks or something. This was built in 1 day. Although, I think if the $80k contractor won the bid, it would have been done long time ago, only because of permitting delays and having to wait on all the pieces to come together with the way I am doing it now. But I'll wait it it means I save $50k! 😂
