The only way to make a profit is to do repairs yourself.I like how you are putting what the parts are in the video.🤩👍👍

Hayden, it is so great to see you document all the hard work 4G Harvesting does to get ready for another season. I loved the text headings you used in the video - very kewl. Looking forward to the harvest with 4G Harvesting ❤️❤️❤️

Most folks that own a combine do not understand how important it is that you need to keep that rotor in balance. They will change just the piece that’s broke and wonder why is vibrating, eating bearings and gear boxes.

$20k of such specialized parts for these machines does not seem unreasonable. They need to work under heavy duty for a season. I think nearly every operator has to do their own repairs and by doing so, gets 'paid' for their knowledge and skill. Good for them. I guess if you get big enough, you hire your own mechanic at least for the season if that is possible. Thanks Hayden for your documentation of this aspect of your business. It's the part many do not consider and yet doing this right as well as the scheduling is clearly an important part of the whole picture.

I was born in 41. When I was old enough to be working on the farm we were just phasing out stationary threshing machines. With all the changes in combines, threshing devices, the separator sieves are the same now as they were in those threshing machines built in the late 1930s. The top and bottom sieve, the fan, the process is very much the same. We moved two old pool type large international combines. Then Case A6 combines a little later and then to John Deere. The principles were all the same. And the principles are exactly the same in your combines. The sieve adjustments were made with a handle on a slot with a wing nut both hold them in position. It looks like your sieves have an electric motor.

Actually I am surprised that the $20,000 price tag. I follow Andy at fixing farming and fabricating. He does major overhaul work on his combine, chopper, and other equipment. The costs that he speaks about are just enormous.

2.5 gallons of water pressurized to a 100 psi aka green mark for your PW extinguisher. Wonder if Cody knows that our home state of PA has the most volunteers and volunteer firefighters in the US. I don’t see very many out here in Arizona except for in the smaller rural farming communities. We’ll be harvesting spring wheat in another few months here in Yuma.

4G for 4th Generation? Meaning your dad grew up farming on grandpa's farm? Cool. Your mother also grew up in a farming family? Did you get the engine changed out on the semi?
