Jones has a ton of talent playing with him. It's great that he has developed, I'm just not sure if he's a pro QB or not. But he'll be a front runner for Heisman due to Alabama being great every year. To me he's a good player on a great team.

@@theangrycowb0y It’s dumb trade a top 10 qb who’s 27 for a rookie qb with the ceiling that mac jones has. Especially if the purpose is to extend the contract of a WR. A position that you can easily add to with a mid rd pick. Kinda like what Gallup is himself. And on top of that, Cowboys have Cooper and Lamb already lol.

@@zohraishv If you know how the salary cap works which you obviously don't then you would know that quarterbacks cost the most to franchise tag hence more cap percentage being eaten up by one player! Signing Dak means not being able to re-sign other players that need to stay.

@@zohraishv Wouldn't you be looking to unload Coop's contract eventually? The future would be a lot brighter financially (for the rest of the team) if you could eventually steer toward slotting Lamb and Gallup 1 and 2. However, I do realize that a certain potential 40+ million dollar QB struggled pretty mightily per-Amari/post Romo Ferrari... But, whew, that is a lot of money for a QB/WR combo. That doesn't feel very smart -- so it is probably exactly what we'll do.

@@jesseroberts22 Tim Tebow won 2 national championships and the Heisman trophy. He's playing minor league baseball now. Ty Detmer set 59 ncaa records and won the Heisman trophy, once out of college he was just another "jar on the shelf" Just my opinion from what I've seen.

The only downside to Mac is his scrambling ability. But man, he is smart, throws are great deep ball, and never seems to get rattled. In the right system, I think he will be a solid NFL QB.

No McCarron didn't go through his reads as fast as Mac and didn't have the pocket awareness that Mac Jones has. Mac is the better QB and you can't judge a player by another completely different player just because he went to the same school played the same position and wore the same number they are still 2 completely different players who actually play very different style of games even though both are pocket passers. Mac Jones is willing to be more of a gunslinger and go downfield more than McCarron would, plus Mac Jones has a quick release and AJ McCarron had a long slower release.
