How Sims react to Cheating in the Sims games // The Sims 4 will shock you!

Do you ever think back to the Sims 2 and miss some of the smaller details they missed in later games? I know I do! Especially when it comes to cheating!
In this video I’ll be playing through the same cheating scenario in the sims 2, the sims 3 and the sims 4 to see how they react differently.
I was pleasantly reminded of all the things I love from the sims 2 based on their reactions. The sims 3 was similar, there were a few elements missing, such as the negative relationship between the 2 partners of the cheating sim, but overall it had the rest of the main ingredients.
The Sims 4 was the most disappointing, watching that one back was quite frustrating! They just didn’t care at all that their partner was cheating on them!

In Sims 2 the jealousy is nicely realistic. I find weird that in Sims 4 the jealous Sim only gets angry with the partner and not their affair.

If you had Ecolifestyle installed while recording this than “Free Love” might have been voted into the neighborhood and that’s why they were behaving like that in the sims 4

Just gonna comment on here that I loved how the wife in the sims 2 was so shocked and devastated that she immediately went mad, lol I adored that 😂

You brushed over a lot about the Sims 3... First of all, other people in the household react very negatively to the cheating. It gives them the "witnessed a betrayal" moodlet and makes the relationships with the cheater tank (they also become enemies with the cheater's partner). Usually if the cheating is small, like say flirting, the cheated on sim will get a "betrayed" moodlet, their relationship will tank and there's a 2 day countdown. If they managed to repare the relationship, mind you it's hard since they will reject most interactions, they will get back together. If they don't, the relationship will automatically end. If the cheating is quite severe and even repeated, like kissing or woohoo, the sim will break-up with the cheater AUTONOMOUSLY. The player has no saying in this and they can't cancel the action. Yeah, the Sims 2 has the most dramatic reactions, but imo, the Sims 3 has the most depth, human and complex system when it comes to betrayals.

Also their children can snitch on the cheating parent and will despise them, my sims toddler refused to even be potty trained by their mom without kicking and screaming. And if you have late night if you’re caught rumors will spread and the spouse would eventually find out. I mean my sim flirted with a guy and her enemy saw it and the news spread like crazy and the husband was obviously very upset. I mean even pets would be mad/sad at cheating.

In the sims 3, that bad rep meant everyone knew your business and literally the whole town turned against you - in TS4 nobody cares

Okay, so after careful examination, I have solved the mystery. I think the reason Sims 4 didn't work is because Free Love was voted in on the neighbourhood. At 8:56 a random man approached Paisley and appears to stroke her cheek even though it appears she just met him.

Neighbourhood action plans most definitely have it voted with “Free love” where everyone can be romantic with everyone, and there would be no long term repercussions and jealousy. Eco lifestyle pack.

It never goes this way in Sims 4 for me, they always get mad and 100 negative romantic relationship, yet the friendship usually stay pretty high. It kind of makes sense to me, since you usually still like the person even if you hate them for what they did. What bothers me is that the negative heartbroken moodlet goes away so fast, or it simply flickers between the very sad from cheating and some nonsense that randomly makes them feel happy, like yey, it’s snowing. And then they go back to sad. It just changes so illogically.

Sims four relationship was impacted. It look like their relationship love went down a bit and there was a yellow box in the sentiment section. And they had little crosses over their faces when they did the cheating

check if you have hiddent traits or community action plans like free love on. They will react and slap you're sims and act mad or sad. that free love and at least one aspiration trait let you're sims to live in 'polyamorous' relationships. that mod also allow it. So this is a bit misleading :D They will be mad and stay mad for couple days. the sims spouse also get mad or sad without trait rewards so they all 3 start to hate each others.

Lol, I'm thinking if you have wicked whims in your game to allow open relationships, it disables jealousy. Maybe that's the problem 🤷🏾‍♀️. They still slap each other around in my game Sims 4 game. I had to change the mod settings to allow jealousy. Love your videos.

with my sims in the sims 4 that didnt go well, i was trying to make a new friend with one of my sims that has a boyfriend and this lil shit started flirting autonomously and his boyfriend got really mad for more than a day and not only they lose some of the relationship but his boyfriend got really bad memory(?) with him

You cheated their mood to very flirty. That big heart in their emotions shows that flirty buff was over powering every other emotion.

Either you have WW mods active or Free Love NAP or some other trait activated or bugs, but my Sims always get really angry when someone cheats. They'll swear a lot, then be very sad and cry about broken marriage. Haven't tried it with kids yet though.

If you have the Romantic aspiration and you complete that aspiration you'll get a trait that allows the characters not to care about jealousy

yeah, I knew what was gonna happen in Sims 2 as I've played it before. Obviously there was something wrong with the Sims 4 part when she tried it, they usually get mad, will swear, might stomp away and have a mad AND sad moodlet. I think that's much better than 2 and 3 where they completely go overboard with a simple kiss in front of their spouse. And the wife going completely crazy and mad after seeing that kiss. Wtf is that?! 😂

can anyone help me with this problem ? My sims won’t sit in the custom content chairs every time I order them to sit down in them and I am going through my furniture folder to see if that’s the problem because maybe one of the custom content furnitures are corrupted or something but can anyone give me advice I don’t know what to do it’s so annoying.

I always hated how in the Sims 2 you will have two same sex Sims that are good friends, they could both be married and then all of a sudden they are making out even though they are friends!
