President Trump has pushed hard for reopening schools, citing other countries that have been able to resume classes as evidence the United States can too. Here’s what’s at stake for the economy and what steps the U.S. can take toward getting back to class.

I love how people argue that kids can wear masks and social distance when adults seem to have trouble following the same guidelines.

Yeah kids won't do the same. If they are out in the playground running around in such they will take off their mask. Also kids will want to touch their eyes too and will just forget. The eyes can contract the virus too. It's just too hard. All the kids should learn from distance

@@verucasalt4535 their going to find a way to hack the systems. They do it all time anyway. You know how many parents send their sick kids to school that end up getting others sick. That's the thing these politicians don't understand either the parent is very strong on education to send their kids in even when sick or they just don't want them in the house . With all the over the counter medications you wouldn't know if a student was sick until they fall dead asleep in the middle of class or start breaking into a fever and by then others kids would have e been in contact. Then who is to blame, the parent or the school for not having stronger detecting equipment
@superqmod696
@superqmod696 3 роки тому
N Wolf, first of all, it’s “they’re”, not “their.” Also the point you make about parents sending their kids to school when they’re sick is absurd, and obscure. Before there was not a new, potentially deadly Coronavirus. Now there is. The precautions actually prevent people sending their kids to school when they’re feeling sick. You sort of shot yourself in the foot there.

@USS Pandumbic I think it is more out of necessity. Average income in Georgia is quite low, combined with average education following suit. Most families cannot work from home, and cannot afford daycare for the kids (what limited options there are). A large number are also losing jobs and panicking to get work by any means out of desperation. Georgia is also run by religion and in turn the party of religion (Republicans) making them one of the early open states. Combine all of that together most just know what the party says, and are doing whatever they can to survive.

I feel like a lot of people that are giving their opinion about going back to school haven't been to school in decades. I have went to one of the biggest schools in my state and I have gone to the smallest little schools. so I know one universal problem that no one is talking about are the buses. Even when I attended this small school in Virginia there were like 50 to 60 kids packed in one bus together. Which might not sound like a lot but as a former bus patrol I can tell you that those kids did not have any room for social distancing or any other precautions they had to sit side by side each other. Plus also how are you going to make one teacher make sure that all of the kids (probably don't understand what's going on since they're too little) are socially distancing. Like high school or middle school kids I get but elementary school. Those kids are not going to listen. And that isn't just in Virginia I also went to a really small school in Texas and it was the same thing. no one that is saying go back to school is thinking of the damn buses. A lot of kids depend on buses to get to school and come back. Even if you could have safety precautions in place in the actual building (which I honestly don't think will go as well as you think) what the hell are they going to do about the buses?

The government wants everyone on a list, and they'll get it because parents will send their kids off to these new cocentration camps for kids....let's stop calling them schools.

So it's almost pretty safe here but we are always aware but if cases in the states are so high, it will increase the cases hypothetically. I think virtual learning is decently developed in the states that it still gives a fair amount of education during the lockdown. Honestly, going back to school now makes many things limited. In Malaysia, we cancelled curriculums and PE classes and everything feels so limited that online classes may seem more valuable than in person. Conclusion, reopening schools would just increase the chances of covid outbreaks. Maybe giving the students the option whether they prefer in person learning is a solution.
