I dunno, after so many horror movies with idiots dying, nowadays seeing a character with actual survivor instinct or knowledge to fight back gives me more satisfaction at the end. Even if they screw up a few times (or else there wouldn’t be a movie), the ending is just so fun to cheer for the victim to break free of their absurd situation.

Okay, for the first death, she was fucked the moment she was caught and thrown in the coffin to be buried alive. If I remember correctly, Mythbusters actually went out of their way to test if you could punch your way out of a coffin if you were buried alive like in Kill Bill. They proved that even if you had enough strength to start breaking the coffin with the limited space you had to punch with and you were good at punching with plenty of strength, you were more than likely going to pass out before the pine starts to become breakable enough for escape or you could be crushed to death by the dirt flooding in.

There’s a webcomic in webtoon called “Lorena Immaculate” and this reminded me of it. It’s so good! It’s about some nuns from this “Convent” going to a house to exorcise it only to realize that they’ll have to work together with some ghost hunters/ bloggers. Lorena (our main character) starts to learn about the outside world and slowly begins to question Mother Superior and their “one true convent” It’s VERY good 👌:D

The weight of the dirt on top of the coffin would add to the force needed to break the lid. That adds literal tons of force to something that already takes tons of force to break (because if it didn't, it would have collapsed already).

Often the problems and situations proactive protagonists re faced with in these types of horror movies can be entirely avoided by not panicking and pausing. Most of the protagonists immediate problems would be solved with a bit of forethought and planning. Their beginning mistakes can almost all be avoided by simply not panicking and acting like a small child from step one.
