I have split this Barrel BBQ project into 3 parts, Part 1, Part 2 and a 4th video for making the grill rack. More than 10 million views indicate that people liked and appreciated my creation! @@hanksta76 it's not worth building it in order to sell it. Just the materials cost me around 120€ and I didn't have to buy the wheels and the wood I used...

great job!!! really really great job! the only thing I would recommend changing the air entrance and air output on different sides, this to allow a great airflow inside the barrel, which is needed for smoking

Really amazing job! Other barrel bbq making videos shown in UKposts are mostly either done sloppily, or the steps aren't clear, or uses hard to get tools. I learned a lot from you and the videos are easy to follow. Thank you for sharing this freely with us! Will definitely give this a go (will use a wooden frame stand instead because i live near the sea and rust is so hard to combat 😁)

1:53 I've got an idea that you can put handle on the side. In current design if you put handle to low, it interferes with the shelf, and if you put it to high, it's not comfortable and you could burn yourself while opening. Long handle look nice but you just opened it with one hand, like 1/15 of it's length.

Kind of in awe with the creativity of the double folding shelf, stealing that for my project if i mange to do everything square and proper like you did. Did you use pine for the shelves? I think that wood looked good enough to be just stained didn’t need the paint.

I love this build, great design, really well thought out! I hope you don't mind but I'm going to make an exact copy of this, I've got a rubbish little bbq I got from a store which doesn't function. I think I could make this for the same as what I paid for the little one (€50) just have to hope for good weather now

Creé una abertura al otro lado de la barbacoa (desde donde está la ventilación). Lo pensé después de empezar a usar la barbacoa, así que lamentablemente no se muestra en el vídeo...

Very good question! After using the BBQ I realized it needed some improvement. As a result I created a "door" in the back side of the BBQ and I can easily add more coal... 😊👍

That's a good question... I looked through other UKposts videos and saw that a lot of people have placed it on the same side. So I decided to place it on the same side as well. Works perfect.

I personally would've put it on the opposite side but if it works the same side then I guess it works.

Only time to put it on the same end as damper...is if you run a piece of sheet steel from one end of the grill to the other. In doing this it has to be above the damper so that the air can create a cross draw effect. Pulling your smoke over the meat your cooking. Otherwise...it does nothing and makes your fire hard to control. Also build a ash tray to rest on the steel you put in the bottom. This way your coals arent up against the side of the barrel. Not criticising your grill nor work. Just have built many...of all types. Hope it helps . You did a great job. Looks very nice

Thank you very much. Regarding the dumper, honestly I do not know which is the correct side.... Before making the BBQ I checked a lot of similar UKposts videos, some of them had it on the side of the chimney and others on the other side...

I've got two grills, one has damper on opposite side and the other on the same side. Both work great. Can't tell any difference when I use them.

Excelent job! Just a observation, never ever use fire to remove paint if the barrel was used before with any kind of fuel even after a hevy washed. Looks so basic but still happen many acidents so adivise is never to much! Congrats, great job!!👏👏👏

Thank you very much for your comments! I really washed it before I removed the paint and had all the taps open. I even had some water left inside just to be on the safe side.... But you are absolutely right, sometimes we do not pay attention to basic rules and accidents happen...

Awesome... I made a provision to your "Grill Rack" to add fuel (charcoal / wood) while cooking and added some "Hanging Hooks", used ceramic tile instead of wood shelves, and 2 t stats at either end (one near top, one near bottom of lid) to ensure an even heat... now adding a rotisserie too...

Really well thought out and executed! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it all come together. The only thing I wish you did differently would be to use a propane tank instead of the flimsy barrel. It'd hold heat a lot better and last a lot longer. Regardless, this was a great video series and you're extremely talented!
