Beef and pasta stir fry is one of my go to recipes. It is so easy to prepare, it's insanely delicious and it cooks quickly too.

That's true Kat. We made the discada out of a 23" disc harrow blade, but it was way to big to be practical as a discada (cowboy wok) so we put legs on and we now use it as a fire bowl. The links to that process are in the Description.

Great video and recipe Pete. Looks like a nice quick and super tasty meal. Cooking and eating outdoors - always a plus on a pleasantly sunny evening. I love sitting out to eat on a summer’s evening. On a side note, I’ve been collecting and sautéing dandelion flowers and enjoying them in various dishes. Also discovered that I had a book on edible plants tucked away in my bookshelf. Just haven’t had much time to explore. Thank you!

Thanks my friend. It's all in the prep with stir fry, once that's done the cooking takes no time at all. I cooked this at a relatively low heat because working with high heat requires a lot more skill with the wok, and that is beyond the scope of this video. The meal turned out lovely though 😋

The dandelion flowers will do you a world of good. I always add a few dried dandelion flowers to my herbal teas.

Converting the huge 28" discada to a fire bowl was a success my friends, it makes a good outdoor wok station. It was way too big to use as a cowboy wok!

Two things I like, Beef and Pasta, so let's go! Yes to the onion, Pete. Outdoor cooking is very nice and it is that season here. Fusilli is one of my all time favorite pasta shape. Holds sauce, flavor and chewy! Very nice meal with a friend outdoors. These are some of the best times ever.

I usually stir fry at higher heat Patrick, but it takes a lot more wok handling skill and concentration and it is beyond the scope of this simple show and tell video style. The results are still excellent though. San Miguel turned out to be a great pairing with this meal.

Yerright mate! The fire bowl is very versatile, handy for several configurations. I don't think I have used my BBQ since we built the fire bowl.

That sounds great Sha. There are good vegan alternatives to oyster sauce too, or you can just replace the oyster sauce with a spoonful of miso. Enjoy!

Thanks Nige! I remember Graham Kerr cos my mum used to watch him on TV when I was a boy. My greatest influence is the great late Keith Floyd. I also admire Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein. My early influencers were Claudia Roden, Madhur Jaffrey and Kenneth Lo.
