Yes they know the formula - just to break it and send something that, according to that formula, is too weird, too ethnic, too gloomy, too sexy, too over-the-top, too silly, too *anything* for Eurovision. And then they make that song a Eurovision masterpiece.

Ukraine has a talent to make a mediocre song into visual spectical fun story in 2011 they chose Mika to represent Ukraine and delegetaion said that the song is bad and they put sand lady to distract audience from the song,but they always get staging and they are so original one of my favorīte countries in eurovision

Radio station content is chosen by radio station managers, and does not always reflect to what people actually want to listen to, or to dance or sing along with. And, in Eurovision, I'm enjoying the stage shows, artists' charisma, and vocal skills, not only the songs. Those same things I'm enjoying when attending a concert. In radio, these do no matter.

Ukraine is always distinguished by singing and cool shows, Ukraine is modern and diverse. Ukraine is the only country that has always taken part in the grand final of Eurovision, except for the big 5. I love you Ukraine!

You can safely say Ukraine is the only country that has always been qualifying for the grand final. Because the reason for the big 5 qualification is different, since they don't even perform in semi-finals to be voted.

I mean i dont call that robbery they were 9th with the jury i was kinda suprised that actually they put them that high i thought that jury's will destroy it and put it in bottom,because jurys dont usually go for that kinda songs,so its victory for itself,and this year was a strong year in this year i wasnt really upset about the jury and televote scores overall,because this year more than 15 songs would be a great winner.

Ukraine is the country that ALWAYS brings something to the Eurovision - their entires are something that you cant call boring or unoriginal..or even if they do send somewhat generic songs (2011,2013,2014 and 2017) - they make up for it with their stellar staging in conclusion: Ukraine gives their 120% for the contest unlike other countries (we all know who im talking about) and it always pays off

My favourite country in ESC. And favourite contestants are Ruslana, Verka, Zlata, Jamala and Go-A. BTW the guy dancing in Tina Karol performance founded KAZAKY dance band after, that is also such a bang and was invited by Madonna to her music video. KAZAKY set a new trend in dancing.

Меня очень тронула Алеша . Злата Огневич поразила силой и красотой вокала , а еще она очень красивая . За Джамалу очень болела , такого драматического голосования в финале для меня больше не было . А Melovin моя большая симпатия , я до сих пор внимательно слежу за творчеством этого артиста .Alyosha touched me very much. Zlata Ognevich impressed me with the strength and beauty of her vocals, and she is also very beautiful. I was very sick for Jamala, there was no more such a dramatic vote in the final for me. The main respect goes to Ruslan Kvinta, who is responsible for finding and inviting an artists (a new unknown artists) to participate in Vidbir. And the second person is stage director Kostyantin Tomilchenko (Jamala 2016, Melovin 2018, Go_A 2021 stages). Those two people make 50% of success. ✌👍

After watching this video, I came to the conclusion that Ukrainian performers know how to use their strong sides. For example, Ruslana, Ani Lorak, Loboda, and Tina Karol have dance songs but they deliver them with such wild energy that you wanna dance along like crazy. They are smiling, cheering the crowd, and kinda flirting with you through the screen. They don't just dance like robots afraid of making a wrong move. Jamala and Alyosha's songs (and voices) are very powerful so they put emphasis on them and not distract your attention with visuals. Mika and Zlata's songs are pretty ordinary (my opinion!) but here comes an awesome staging with sand animation and fairy tale forest. Same touches upon Melovin and Maria Yaremchuk. And Verka, of course! It's not a secret that Andrei doesn't have a good voice. So he had to amuse Europe with smth else and here comes this crazy song, viral moves, and Andrei's charisma. As a result, we have one of the most iconic performances ever.

I'm always impressed by the diversity of styles and genres in Ukrainian national selection. It feels as if the artists are just presenting themselves just as they are - instead of presenting something people could think is "Eurovision-compatible". There are often acts that might be considered too weird for other countries' national selections. And, Ukrainians even dare to choose on of them! I think this richness and variety might be one reason for Ukraine's success. It's a pity only one artist can be chosen, as there typically are several worthy ones. But, at least I've found a few artists whose songs I'm now listening to, and whom I would not have been got to know otherwise.

When it comes to music there is no shortage of talent and creativity in Ukraine. And they seem to know how to channel it in a very professional way. Most songs in Vidbyr are also of a very high standard.

You are right. That is because Ukraine has VIDBIR (translated as "selection" from Ukrainian), while in many countries there is just VYBIR (transl. as "election" from Ukrainian) in fact...Ukraine always tries to select best of the best...

Ukraine is THE country to beat in Eurovision, and I'm so happy EBU is finally acknowledging that. Not only has it always qualified to the final but also placed within the top 10 more often than outside of it. These placements include 10th in 2010, 7th in 2006, 6th in 2014, 5th in 2021, 4th in 2011, 3rd in 2013, 2nd in both 2007 and 2008 as well as winning the whole competition in 2004 and 2016 respectively. They have been my favourite ESC country since Ani Lorak and every year they're the ones whose entry I most look forward to. Go_A was my favourite in both 2020 and 2021, and I cannot wait to see what Ukraine's got in store for us next year. с Любовью из Финляндия!

As soon as I heard Jamala's powerful voice I got chills all over my body. This is something else. This year I knew Italy was gonna win (crazy sexy talented italians totally deserved it btw), but Ukraine was my favourite entry once again.

The Vidbir is Ukrainian national selection for the ESC is quite a show in itself! The foreigners have no idea, since they don't know what is being said ) The 3 judges and the host Sergiy Prytula, who is famous for his notorious jokes, subject contestants to such a scrupulous scrutiny. I remember Melovin said, the most difficult part was to win the Vidbir, the pressure was not nearly as big at the Eurovision itself lol.

My first Eurovision I watched was the legendary 2007 with Verka Serduchka. I remember that I was a kid and I didn't like it because "it looked too funny". Oh boi, ooooh boi how WRONG I WAS, now I can't imagine Eurovision without Verka, she represents everything what's best in ESC
