@@asus_support Hi asus, I installed today a crucial p5 1tb 2280 m.2 nvme ssd, but for some reason, it's just not detected. Yes i have installed it in the proper m.2 slot, pcie3, nothing, tried removing all the sata drives connected, nothing, CSM mode is enabled, secure boot is disabled. PCIe mode just won't show up, and on nvme devices it just shows "no nvme devices found". I read some guides around and a guy was saying: if windows doesn't put a EFI boot sector partition, the nvme won't be visible".But how do i even try to put a UEFI partition on there if the drive it's not even visible? Yes the BIOS is updated too. Weird thing tho, it gets heated up like i'm reading/writing from there. CPU is i7-10700. motherboard: rog strix B560-F so i excluded pcie4 because of my CPU. it only displays SATA and AHCI, nvme "devices not found". Can't access PCIe modes as well. in PCH storage config, no M.2 option is displayed, nor the M.2 & SATA mode option.

Hi @@fab_81 Is the motherboard ROG STRIX B560-F GAMING WIFI and the bios version 1017? Do you install the m.2 nvme ssd in M.2_1, M.2_2 or M.2_3 slot? All of them are not detected? Have you restored bios to default settings and tried other m.2 nvme ssd?

Hi Kemoi Même, I'm afraid for the old models (ex: TUF B450-PLUS GAMING), which use PCIE Mode M.2 SSD(including: NVME M.2), information of hard disk or SSD doesn't show in Storage Information in BIOS EZ Mode due to the framework of the BIOS.

@@asus_support Thank you for answering, i really appreciated. But in the case of "older" motherboards, what is the correct setting in BIOS when adding an M2 NVMe drive? Since 2015, ASUS hasn't made it clear on this matter. You could also have done a little BIOS update for your "old" customers. Without any nastiness, that's a bit of what we can blame you for, lack of clarity and lack of updates. And that's so sad, because I'm not sure you understand. Thank you again and have a good day.

@@ninefame803 They should work just fine out of the box. it was just a really odd situation that I encountered, and I suspect not the norm. That was 9 months ago now. The mainboard's internal software has also had a lot of time to mature, and should already come with an updated bios's (there have been a couple of updated bios's since I got mine). That said, if you encounter the same problem, you already know how to fix it 🙂

@@asus_support Thank you for thr reply. I have managed somehow to update bios and to make all kind of updates to my PC. Now it is visible in the bios (although in the same time my other HD-WD is not visible anymore) but not when I start the pc.

Hi, according to your question, you can definitely install your operating system on an M.2 SSD and use the old HDD for data storage on the TUF B450M-Plus Gaming motherboard. Install your operating system (e.g., Windows) on the M.2 SSD. During the installation process, you will be prompted to select a destination drive. Choose the M.2 SSD as the installation location. Hi, according to your question, faulty hardware may cause these errors. Have you update all the hardware drivers? Have you check the power supply? Make sure you power supply fan is working correctly. Check the fan on your CPU to make sure it is properly attached to the CPU. If you have overclocked your CPU, it is suggest that you reset your settings to the default settings. Thank you.

@@asus_support I have updated all of the drivers, those being the Bios, chipset and GPU drivers. Am I missing any? Also I have changed out the power supply to newer replacement but messages still persist, I will be taking the computer apart on Friday so I will have a look inside whilst turning it on to check the fans. Is there anything I should look out for (other than fans not moving). Also when you say is the fan on my CPU attached properly, do you mean make sure it's not too tight or loose? If you disable CSM in bios, the m.2 ssd would disappear but the pc can boot into windows? Do you install OS in the m.2 ssd? May I have the brand and the model name of the m.2 ssd?

I have tried to look for SSHD everywhere, It's not getting detected in either Disk Management, Device Manager or in ASUS Bios as well. I have even Factory reset my laptop 3 times, no luck!. I thought Updating my Bios would help detecting my SSHD but unfortunately, my laptop's battery is not getting charged either, it always shows" 0% AVAILABLE( PLUGGED IN)" . I have tried to disable the drivers of battery from Device Manager, and disconnected the wiring and reconnected it to the motherboard, and restarted my Laptop but still no sign of charging or showing its functionality. Because of battery problem, I am not able to update my Bios, first I thought updating bios from windows version would be a better idea but i didn't know that after installing or updating Bios, my laptop will restart and take it to the Bios for it final update, and now every time when i restart my laptop, it goes straight to the 50%updated Bios, in other words, Bios is not updated fully, due my battery problem, Bios gives an error of "BATTERY MUST BE MORE THAN 20% AND LAPTOP MUST BE PLUGGED IN" not exact phrase though in ASUS BIOS SETTINGS. 1. CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST ME HOW TO UPDATE BIOS WITHOUT BATTERY? 2. HELP ME DETECTING MY SSHD? Because updating Bios might bring back my SSHD to laptop's detection. Thanks in advance!

@@asus_support Aptio Setup is the only thing that will load. The only bypass is with a Flashdrive and there I found out it is not the SSD because I can access the installed SSD from a flashdrive OS. There is no support drivers or firmware for this computer on the ASUS website. So far no help from online support. Seems like it should have a simple solution that doesn't require mailing my new computer across the country!
