I watch Victoria Stilwell & she has a great way to end separation anxiety. I love how she does things in a way that is encouraging to the dogs & she uses nothing negative to train them.

Our dogs know that the time to 'ask' to go along is when we put on our shoes.

I think Agnes and her husband should do things differently. When you leave, tell them what you're going to do and say I'll be back and not just the command sit. When I/we leave, we have "whole conversations" with the dog and now after 10 years it is still going well to this day, occasionally there is a short bark but that is also over quickly. He has already experienced that his previous owner passed away and that fear comes out of the dog. Training training training, going away a little longer each time until he realizes that they are coming back to him. Every time we leave we use a sniffing blanket in which we have hidden all kinds of small tasty things, our dog is already ready when I put on my shoes and my coat because he knows he can do something fun

he understood commands spoken in english so probably at least used to both languages

Not always possible or a cure either. Some people don't want to take on another dog.

only helps if the separation is specifically because he's lonely this ain't being lonely, this is not knowing how to deal with not being lavished with attention 24/7

just "getting another dog" isnt that simple lol, its a huge deal its not just a simple quick thing you can just do whenever you want
