My dad works for Mojang, and I can say that you need to get up to build limit with netherite blocks for snow to appear : it will be winter once you'll have finally made it.

Haha I tried testing this as well after I watched the video. A Y level of 600 is needed for snow in superflat. In normal worlds however, different biomes have snow begin at a variety of y levels (probably depending on the temperature of the biome). The taiga biome for example has snow start falling at Y levels as low as 153. The lowest place you can obtain snow without being in an official cold biome is in windswept biomes or a stony shore biome. Here, snow can start falling at y = 113. Crazy stuff...

First off, you're right. Snow is depending on biome. But even if it was snowing, it wouldn't be able to spawn on your platform since no block can be placed above build hight. But even if the platform was a bit lower, snow still wouldn't appear for the afforementioned reasons in the video.

The most infuriating part about this is not the people but Mojang in my opinion. We could have just had snow in the last few blocks, like it was before, no stretching the rain height up. We got more height, we reached the snow. It would have been so nice and simple.

I think I figured out your problem, when you made your world, you selected "survival" instead of "creative" and that's why you can't get snow, hope this helps 😄 I am joking, but then I realized you've probably received actual comments like that because it's the internet

see, most the comments had the right idea, this mechanic is right, but only in mountain biomes, the normal super flat biome does not have this mechanic, some old skyblock series were created using mountain biomes for this exact mechanic so snow was available. point is this mechanic is right but only in mountain biomes, Love Your Vids ❤️

I think the reason people are saying this is because, if you go really high up in a taiga it will start to snow. No idea how people thought it worked everywhere else.

I know that water turning into ice is actually a thing on bedrock, but with that being said, it might only happen on non-super flat worlds. The snow I'm unsure for any scenario however. I remember building a massive sugarcane farm and had to waterlog slabs to prevent the water from freezing before. Again, might just not happen on super flat unfortunately, even if it doesn't make sense.

Some of the comments seemed confused, like "Wait can't you get snow when high up?", but the comments that try and tell him directly like "You can get snow if you are high enough." is just wild considering that this guy has been playing superflat for 10 years. You'd think he'd know about that by now. Not to say I knew this before hand. I always thought that snow would always be higher up no matter what biome but I definitely wouldn't tell this guy that as if it's a fact

You can only get snow at those y levels in certain biomes which are not present in this preset of Superflat. There is only the one biome iirc and it's plains.

i swear this actually worked at one point cause years ago i swear i did this on a server since i remember making a jump platform at almost build height it was basically a crappy version of a dropper map and i remember it always having snow on it

0:49 If snow did fall, it still wouldn't be possible bc the building block needs to be 1 block underneath the build limit so snow has space to spawn

It is possible if you first go to the nether, then write ”Gullible” in the chat three times, then build up above 300Y. It’s pretty hard to get first try, but good luck!

Rain does turn to snow it just does it above the height limit which is why people are saying it.

Im pretty sure it used to snow in older versions but now its probably just a thing they remember, then tell you, then other people see it then they remember, and then its a big thing of false information.

If you keep going north you should find some snow eventually.
