How to install Google Play on Honor 8x Max and others

The new Honor 8X Max doesn't come with Google Play pre-installed but fear not. I have found a way to install fully working Google Play Store and services so sit back and enjoy this tutorial.
This method works on most Huawei and Honor devices with Chinese roms and probably on some other phones, won't hurt if you give it a go.

This is very much useful..I was trying to install Google in my Huawei phone for 2 days then I found it. You should change the Title because not only Honor it's worked for any Chinese phone.

Ho usato questa procedura su Honor 9i LLD-L20 circa 2 settimane fa. Funziona benissimo, attualmente nessun problema, dopo tante ricerche e tanti video questo è stato l'unico che mi ha salvato! questo smartphone era diventato inutile dato che ha ROM cinese e Huawei non da più i codici sblocco bootloader. Thanks! Who is still struggling with HONOR 8X, use Google installer 3.0 instead of 2.0. Don't forget to reboot the phone and clear cache of the app before using the play store. Good luck.

If you are having problems after EMUI 9.0 update, you have to downgrade to 8.0. For that, install hisuite on your pc and connect to your phone with usb. Other instructions can be found on plenty of youtube videos. HOPE IT HELPS

Get the zip files but still get message app may damage your device, installation forbidden on Huawei P8max , haven’t been able to get this to work since EMUI update many months ago wiped away all Google services. Any newer fixes for this?

So I think due to recent updates it won't allow me to install anyways the button won't even show, I could do it before but I had to factory reset, to solve this go to settings,security and privacy,more and enable download apps from unknown sources and disable check apps from external sources. Make sure to put them back to default again!

I think another great option is just to boot out the chinese firmware and install global rom with firmware finder (if it has the firmware for the 8x Max.) For now and as of 2019; I was able to install google play services from the chinese app gallery you referenced and after installation it told me I needed to install Google Play Services. I did so without having to root the phone. Now I just need to remove a freakin boatload of chinese apps lol.

For some reason, after I was done downloading the Google Play Store, I went to launch it but the phone skipped the Google Sign in window and launched the Play Store but it never really finished loading...it was always loading. Even now if I try to launch the Play Store app, it just loads and loads and then I get a window saying that it isn't responding. And that is where I am now :( Any suggestions???

Can this be done on Huawei Mate 20, the Chinese version? I have just tried and the installation works up to 83% but then stops because it says i already have a newer version of this app installed. I then tried to uninstall the google play app that is already on my phone but my phone wouldn't let me. I also tried to disable or force stop it but my phone also wouldn't let me do this.

i have answer.. if u can't install after allow unknow sources make reset to clean phone and without connect wlan try install it [use pc to copy files to your phone] and remember do not connect to wi-fi. helped me

This method worked perfectly fine before the EMUI 9 update. Rolling back to EMUI 8 worked only temporarily as I was not able to stop the EMUI 9 update from being executed (even with developer settings which should prevent automatic updates). Is there any solution to this problem?
