I’m not sure what they used to make Mario move but I would use tape inside out so the sticky part is on the outside and put Mario on that, or you can use string/twine :)

Any luck making this? How did the tape go round the rolls? Sticky side touching the rolls, or non stick side touching the rolls? Also what are the rubber bands for?

This is amazing- is there a more simplified version for people like me who aren’t super engineery and this would be a 30-45 min craft that all ages could do k-5? I don’t think there’s anyway for them to complete this in that time.

Which side of the tape did you use on the outside of the paper and tissue rolls? Glue side or dry side? Please reply.

I used the glue side of the tape to put it around the toilet paper rolls. The dry side of the tape is touching the backside of the tissue roll (the roll with the picture on it). And then, just to be 100% sure, I used the tape with double glue side to stick the first tape to the tissue roll. The tape with double glue side connects the dry side of the first tape and the backside of the tissue roll. This is not shown on the video, because I did it later. Hope it helps :)

Nintendo themselves beat you to it on this idea with the NES LEGO Set! I like this better though, as you have less fear of just touching it, and it breaking apart. You can also customize the outside, make a different level, and even change Mario to be, say, his original NES sprite!
