I just watched a UKposts video where they said just extract a color pallette from a photo, but you went hella in depth on this going scientific with it. You even broke a misconception I had about cool shadows/warm light that was hindering my ability to select the right colors. Thank you so much! I feel a lot more comfortable selecting colors and being creative with them instead of feeling restricted.

I know this is a year old but I just gotta say, you are a lifesaver. Every other tutorial on skin is way too vague and simple for my tendency to want to break things down into components. They don’t provide the easily, widely applicable structure that this does. Again, thank you so, so much for this.

I have heard of sub-surface scattering and refracted light before, but it made my head hurt when I saw explanations of it and why they were important for artists. With this video, I was able to understand those factors a lot more clearly, and how to use them in the future when I add color to my digital and painted works. I even learned a lot of new things, like specularity. I’m really glad I came across this video! Good job and thank you, Lucas!
