hello, i recently passed the hashicorp certified terraform associate exam! so this video shares the tips and tricks i used to study and pass the certification. the whole process took me about 30 days and i'm sure with the tips provided in this video, you can too! feel free to reach out with any questions, and please do leave a comment if this video helped you in any way!

Once again, a big thank you to jedi.ascode, I smashed the Terraform associate exam. Thanks for the guidance, Kubernetes took a little longer to pass however I feel the way you outline your steps to take from zero knowledge on the subject matter to knowing when you ready to the exam is excellent. Keep posting videos! I am interested in taking the RHCSA exam to prep for the Openshift Certs and Ansible.

Hello Jedidiah, I'm interested in Terraform admin cert -- would you say this exam is easier/faster to pass if one first learns their way around Kubernetes? Or are they different technologies so one could start with any one of them, without noticing much difference? BTW, thank you so much for sharing your notes on your GitHub wiki! I found it extremely useful, keep 'em coming ;-)

Hey! Terraform is much easier and requires no kubernetes knowledge. I'd go with that one first if you're just getting into the swing of DevOps. Happy to help :)

Thanks for the vid! I'm currently using the same course as you did for the exam. Did you get any gaps on your test day? The course It's pretty old... like from 2 years ago, so... Basically I wanna know if this course It's enough to pass the certification + practice exams. Thank you!

The cloudguru course covers the basics but i'd *really* recommend leaning heavily on using practice exam questions to help guide your learning/reading! Best of luck and hmu if you have any other questions!

@@sujinrish9000 Bro its easy exam, just learn basics from Vijin Palazhy course in UKposts. Also try Zeal Vora course practice exams. Test yourself. Please try to focus on exam same things mentioned in exam guide. You have to get clear picture on basics. Then you can pass.

Loved the exam resources But on the website it says new version of this exam will be launched early 2022, at what exact month will the new exam be out? Any idea on this Thinking to give exam after 30 days

not sure on when the update's going to happen... i imagine soon because of the badge visual refresh, but it's the last month of Q12022 so imagine *very* soon. with that said, the core terraform workflow hasn't drastic changes, so any study efforts put in now will still be worth it :) let me know how it goes!

Before taking the test, make sure your webcam can read the fine print on your photo ID! or has the ability to focus on small lettering. I went to take the exam and the Proctor could not read my ID because my webcam could not pick up the fine print on my ID, so it was too blurry for them to read. I have to reschedule and dealing with PSI on that has been a nightmare. Not a fun time for me lol

@@ascode-com Hitting up PSI directly got me no where, but I reached out to Hashicorp and they responded quickly and gave me a free voucher to retake the test. I passed!

not too many honestly, just having some hands-on practice at the job was the most valuable!

Unless you have extensive real-world experience on top of the course, I'd say that practice exams and additional readings are a must! hope that helps.
