HOW TO READ ANALOG INPUTS RASPBERRY PI: MCP3008 Analog to Digital Converter | Raspberry Pi Projects

We use a MCP3008 Analog to Digital converter (ADC) to convert analog signals from a potentiometer to digital signals. This allows the raspberry pi to understand the input value. The code was written in Python 3 and was run on a Raspberry Pi 3b with Raspberry Pi OS (Raspbian). Please comment with any questions you have and like the video if you enjoyed it. Hey, so lucky to found this video, because, I need help, to connect a wire from exact these 12 V supply to a rasperry pi. Which wire should I use ? And maybe you can tell me to implement a water pipe as well, I need it for a garden project. Would be great, to get a response. Thank you!

How many simultaneous analog inputs can the MCP3008 accept? If I have a project with 12 potentiometers, would I be able to use multiple MCP3008 chips to achieve this? Also, thanks for the video :)

Nice what you making? You wouldn’t have enough inputs because you have 8 pins with this so you’d have to multiplex the inputs similar to how this guy does it www.mikronauts.com/raspberry-pi/raspberry-pi-analog-to-digital-conversion-experiments-and-howto/ . I did something similar to a coffee table I made but used an arduino you can check out that video if you are interested in our backlogs here

@@tyandgigbuilds8836 thanks :) I’m making a controller to attenuate the values of the sound registers in the game boy color processor. I’d need potentiometers for various parameters which I’d send to the game boy via the cartridge pins whenever the address bus references certain memory space. I’m recording footage of the build process and will probably upload the final project eventually!

@@tyandgigbuilds8836 I personally don't like multiplexing inputs as half the time we cannot take the data. You rather would use a ic which has more inputs

You should have made a dimmable LED. No need for a ADC to just turn it on and off.
