Hi Ruben - It depends on your personal preference and or to what you're trying to get a better match. For knotholes, some craftsmen prefer dark brown, and some like more black. I believe in this video we used an oxide brown tint to darken the filler up for the knotholes. Hope that helps!

The only time that filler application mode might come into question would be the "dry" months of the year for your particular climate (and what kind, if any, of HVAC and humidity controls are operational within the flooring space), which differs across the U.S. For some, it's drier in the summer and for others, the winter months produce the driest internal environment. It's up to the professional to know how wood flooring reacts throughout the year and make the call to trowel fill or spot fill.

@@BonaProfessional This seems like the perfect product for what I want to do but this video basically says I shouldn't do it because it will 1.) be pushed out in summer and 2.) crumble in the winter. How do we use your product succesfully? Is it still possible? (US based customer here)

@@chasefreeman8219 The successful application of Filler can depend on the type of flooring installed (or being refinished); the condition and stability of the floor; sometimes the season of the year; etc. Because we're dealing with such a large surface area of wood (unlike a single piece of furniture), and typically many individual runs and boards, there is definitely a science to this part of wood flooring and it's where years of experience in a particular market pays off.
