Follow along to see a full 4th-axis CNC machining process with the Rotary Module. This time we added new features of Origin Assistant and Bit Assistant to the Touchscreen, and realized full support in Snapmaker Luban. Hopefully it's going to be a quite smooth rotary CNC experience of you.

Just got mine today and its awesome. Haven't tried the CNC yet, but the laser engraving was easily setup and the sample file engraved a perfect picture on the small gift box. Great addition to the whole environment so far. The emergency button is also a very useful addition and works flawlessly. Usually I had to jump to the back of my setup and search for the power off on the back of the power supply. This is so much better with the button.

So far so good. The software is intuitive. Have worked with laser cutting. Found extremely helpful the option of scanning the workspace and placing the contours to cut directly on the background. Well done!

i want to machine snakewood, bubinga, amarant, hard maple etc... is this ok if the whole process is set to a lower speed for less mechanic stress or something? can the 1.6w lasermodule cut 0.5-0.7mm hardwood veneers, or do i need to upgrade something? greetings

Very interesting stuff for sure. As someone who works in a machine shop, I have a couple questions?? How does the rotary table align when mounted to the machine. If it is only Bolt holes then does it ever go on straight. This could be detrimental to parts sizing from one end to another. Also is Renshape or other soft materials the only thing you can cut? For example can we cut aluminum, brass or steel by using lighter cuts? Also is it possible to use software like MasterCam or GibbsCam to program it. It sure is a great looking machine and I am very interested in investigating more on this.. :)

Hi! Glad you're interested. · Actually it's not about the material size, it's the carving toolpath. As the tailstock point may penetrate a little into the material, it's necessary to leave a certain space at the end of it when you generate toolpath. If the material is too long for the rotary module, it's OK to go without the tailstock. · For now the machine can't work on any metals. · Also we don't have a post-processor for MasterCam or GibbsCam now.

Hello,when i use artcam I don't know how to align my model on the y axis;I am trying to creat a bannister which has the X wrapped around Y but it seems that I can't align it right because after i click create rotary relief and having a look at it in the unwrapped mode it looks awful; can't even realise what I'm looking at; any help would be appreciated, thank you

It´s really a cool machine! Have 2pcs A350 both with enclosure, and laser, can´t wait for the bigger laser to arrive :-) but sadfully the setup instruction about the tail isn´t good enough so on the first try with the rotary module, I carved away the pointed part of the tail 😞😞😞 meaning it´s now useless...😭😭😭😭😭

Yes, you can use the different cutters, Snapmaker 2.0's CNC Module is equipped with a standard ER11-A 1/8” collet.
