@emmettturner94527 місяців тому
@@Shiftarus The opposite of broad is narrow. “Broadcasts” go out indiscriminately in all directions from the broadcast tower for free. You can receive it at home, like paid cable, or anywhere else you take your equipment. Meanwhile, traditional cable can only be received at the subscribed location with a direct connection that you have to pay for. Even then, you won’t get HBO unless you pay extra. It doesn’t get much more “narrow” as far as television distribution goes unless you count Pay Per View.
@emmettturner94527 місяців тому
@@Shiftarus The radio station is still “broadcasted” whether your receiver (broken radio) works or not, so it was less about your receiving equipment than the way it was transmitted. Heck, the feast DirecTV and DiSH Network piracy was so rampant in Canada is because their laws said you were free to do whatever you wanted with the encrypted broadcast signal blanketing the whole hemisphere… so if you could break said encryption you could watch free satellite TV. Canadian law treated encrypted satellite transmissions the same as free TV broadcasts.

Nathan barely posts but when he does it’s like the second coming of Jesus.
