You need more than vague accusations to convict someone though, you need serious evidence. A world leader has to do something really idiotic like confessing their crimes on TV like Putin did. Former Kosovo president Hashim Thaci is currently being tried, Charles Taylor will spend the rest of his life in prison. The former head of state of Khmer Rouge-era Cambodia, Khieu Samphan, faced trial in two separate cases and is currently serving a life sentence. Hissene Habre, former leader of Chad was sentenced to life and died in prison. While he never went to trial Gaddafi did eventually pay the price for his crimes at the hands of his own people.
