Ive had epilepsy for five years and due to the president and his stupid new laws I’ve gone five years without my medication. Constantly hiding my condition from employers and friends because in highschool I wouldn’t be allowed to take in school trips and etc. Because I’m too much of a “liability”. And Cameron’s death was very shocking and close to home. I’m so glad he showed the world what people with epilepsy can do with their condition. EVERYTIME i hear about him my heart hurts. The epilepsy community really needed someone like him. May he Rest In Peace.

Hozier knows how to incorporate and quote/cite the classics in his songs. The way this song is stacked with song titles but Iit never sounds like they've been clumsily added on. The lyrics make perfect sense, the song is gorgeous, and if you get the references, that only compounds the emotional weight of it.

This is just unfair. People that leave in a young age really bothers me and makes me realize to appreciate every year, month, weeks and days. This is heart breaking.

I can't imagine me not being with someone that resembled and reminded me of him... Thank you for your music. My interpretation is that he is Singing this to his past lover , and talking about how things from before remind him of her , and how she has , in essence , carried herself into his new relationship. Like when he's saying , " she's almost you " or " she laughs like you " , or when he's thinking of those things while in bed at night and she turns to ask if he's alright. I think he's talking about moving on while still trying to let go of the pieces, the image , the mannerisms of her that have been etched into his mind. " She " is *almost* "you" because she will never be exactly what his ex lover was , but she is enough , because as he says - he is almost himself again after losing the love he had before . That's just how it feels for me.

Damn, I wasn't expecting to see Cam here. Feels like a punch in the gut. I can't imagine what his family feels when they see him on TV. Hopefully happiness that he had such a positive and lasting impact at such a young age.
