"You don't understand what you are doing. Do you want to be a slave for the rest of your life? Have you been watching TV?" With these words, the sister of a potential recruit, 21-year-old Yuriy, who came to the recruiting center of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov" brigade, turns him down on the phone.
"I wanted to come earlier, but my parents took my documents. They don't want me to go to fight," says Andrii, a 22-year-old candidate for recruits, already at the recruiting center of the Da Vinci Wolves battalion.
Hromadske journalist Maryana Pietsuh visited two recruiting centers in Lviv, where volunteers are waiting. How many are willing to go to war, who will not be recruited under any circumstances, how strict the selection is here and how the work of recruiting centers fundamentally differs from Territorial recruitment centers - see in the report.
