I think the reason why many tend to praise headphones like these ones is because they simply are unable to identify what the sound is lacking or having too much of. Personally I can admit I too struggle with this at least when listening without direct comparison. The average listener just doesn't know what it "should" sound like. Your comparisons are great in showing what the difference in sound really is.

Great review and comparison! Compared to the original track "Dance with Me" (which, again, I wish you would weave into your comparisons more often), it is really obvious that the Huawei has a prominent V-shaped sound signature while the EQ'd Q30 sounds much closer. The main thing I notice is that the mids feel much farther away than is natural. At low volumes, the Huawei probably sounds very reasonable as we know a V-shape profile is needed at low volume, but under normal use, the Huawei feels very "honky", "boomy", etc. to me. Not a product I would probably get. By the way, I know I would love if you had a playlist that featured all the products you really liked (i.e., those that get the OG award or similar). Keep up the great work!

Yep. I personally enjoy that extra OOMPH to the bass and lows. Because I love hip hop/funk and such genres and it's nice when the bass is bumping/strong. BUT! I use Life Q30 and HD599, both with EQ settings that make them fairly "balanced/neutral". I can make small adjustments to make them have a bit more bass rather than being as neutral as possible given the drivers and other limitations. So yeah... I like a balanced sound but also like bass emphasis. You can't have everything but EQ and good cans are your friends. Those Huawei cans sound pretty good, fun sounding indeed. But there's this mud and loss of detail/vocals/mids/balance which makes them not ideal for my liking.

I'm planning on buying HD650 when the time comes to upgrade from my HD599. They should be amazing and I heard that they have a bit more bass and are more fun sounding than the super neutral HD600.

The ANC stands for noise suppression so if you have the a but no noise is generated in your environment it does not bring anything that is like saying my mobile phone does not charge even though your mobile phone is not connected to electricity. The sound of the HUAWEI freebuds studio sounds better than that of the others because it sounds fuller than that of the other headphones. Then there is the fact that you show no respect for a company like huawei Aleine already because you do not know How it is pronounced. Furthermore, you have described the sound quality as a general problem of today's headphone industry already thought about it you you are the problem can probably not be that several companies have developed the same problem if that sounds too good buy you just headphones from 1990 you will be happy then.

Nice case... Wow, 300$ but then all of a sudden 128€ lol. Btw I got a pair of Life Q30 recently, they're very good (especially for the price). My first ANC/BT headphones ever. The best thing about them is the feeling of freedom. No wires. I can put my phone on the shelf and start charging it while the phone is playing music/content to my headphones at the same time, wirelessly. I can go anywhere in my small home, the reach is good and so is the battery life. Only 66,68€ incl. shipping (German Amazon). The only "real" negatives I've found are the sound leak and they press against my ears, the earcups aren't quite big enough. But they're still comfortable enough to be worn for 2-5 hour sessions. Also, they don't get very loud even at max volume. But yeah overall very good stuff.
@Luke-san2 роки тому
'only 66,68€' . I just paid 61€ on Saturday. These prices are like the equalizer settings. I paid €65 for my sons one a week before that. Imagine what the real price for the manufacturer is. Btw they really can go loud. My guess is that the volume on the headset is not directly coupled to the volume on the BT. (at least on the Huawei tablet that I tested it out with) . Meaning you can go full blast on your phone/tabled and change the volume on the headphones to very low or high, test that. A really weird thing... the first noise cancelling headphones I am trying ... is that my ears are getting sucked in the headphones when switching it on. Probably because noise cancelling is 180 degree out of phase of the original sound. (but that is another discussion)
@Lycosa2 роки тому
@@Luke-san Yes. I meant "only 66,68€" because the regular price is 80€ and the Sony XM4 cost 280€ or sth like that from the same German Amazon website. So it's great value for money. In fact Sony's official price is like 370€ so compared to that it's peanuts, awesome price. -I know about the different volume settings, I've tried just about everything. On my S9+ the volume is indeed coupled to the phone's BT media volume. But it's ok, they get loud enough. I'm just used to HD599+O2 Amplifier/DAC on my PC, which can go so loud that my ears hurt and my hearing will be damaged :D. Oh yes, ANC suction... I understand.
@Luke-san2 роки тому
@@Lycosa You see, 'promotions' work. Regular price is only 1 out 10 days, the rest are 'promotions'. My son was also looking at those XM3's or XM4's but like you say the price is a bit insane. On the S9+ , weird I know that sometimes in the developer options you can unlink this plus a couple of other goodies sometimes so check that. Very good that you think about ear damage! I suffer ear 'damage' but not due to bad headphones etc (I laugh a bit at that statement). Mine is TMJ related. I can play my own internal signal generator moving my jaw and some other muscles. No hearing loss at all. A bit weaker in one ear than the other but almost everyone has that. In 9 out of 10 days I have no issues, sometimes it is gone for 99%, but when getting colds etc it can be a not so nice thing. Most people who don't have it don't understand what it is to live with it. You don't look like you have a disability but in fact for some people it is a very serious one. For the headphones and speakers there is more than frequency response alone. To measure is to know but know what you measure. There is phase shift, dynamic range, linearity in dynamic range etc etc . It would be awesome if we could test all stuff for a week and just pick the one we like.
@Lycosa2 роки тому
@@Luke-san Yep... that's how it goes. I might have TMJ/jaw problems as well but I don't know for sure. I have issues with earwax accumulation/blocked ears from wax. Such is life. Yes I enabled developer options and looked at them, there were some interesting settings there like Bluetooth audio codec selection, bitrate, quality, etc... I disabled "absolute volume" but there was no difference that I could notice. (y)

The "entire" iOS community is just 20%. So yeah I would suggest to buy yourself a descent Android for half the money of the phone you are holding now. 80% of your listeners will appreciate. To get back to the Huawei: the build for sure is a lot better than the Anker and to be honest, you should compare the Huawei with the app. It would be nice to hear the difference also in sound and noise canceling with ANC on. And what about the battery-durance? Also something people care about.

Nah, Android devices suck. I'm Android user for 10 years, used many flagships from Sony Xperia Zs to Google Pixels and last one I had was Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. Finally switched to iOS with iPhone 13 standard. Should have changed to Apple years ago... Everything is better, apart from useless fiddling for no lifers who spend all their time tweaking how the phone looks. Functionally iPhones are far superior. Same goes on PC vs Mac side. I have 4000 dollar desktop Windows workstation and recently bought M1 MacBook Air. It has made me realize how much operating system actually does matter. Apple just does things right. And when it comes to audio there's no comparison, MacOS Core Audio is far superior to garbage Windows mixer. Most people including me did not know this before, despite being a geek... But yeah recently have really started to appreciate Apple's quality, its second to none.

Sondcore have artificially overclocked space. A V-shaped chart is not a bad thing, I sometimes set the equalizer myself in this way and many people do.But how can you criticize the sound of headphones with the knowledge that their potential is not being exploited by an incompatible device? Modern equipment (audio, video, photo) functions thanks to digital support, so without the right tools you should not speak in this way. This takes away credibility.
