Huawei Mate X2 Review - I Didn't Expect THIS. This video is my official unboxing and review. Is this the best folding / foldable smartphone 2021? How does it compare vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2? Kirin 9000 chip, 8" 90hz OLED display, Android 11 with EMUI 11 over the top, 50Mp quad camera setup, 8GB ram, 512GB storage. 55w fast charging, 4500 mah battery and stereo speakers! Great folding phone, probably the best hardware going, but should you buy it?

@@taichiwinchester1102 I am with you on this one: Harmony OS is sooooo invasive, it's a very elaborated spyware. I'll stick to Android 10 without Google as I have on my Mate 40 RS. Download Aurora OSS and you're good to go. Many apps actually work without GMS even though it's said that GMS are needed for the app to work.

I have the z fold 3. If the z fold 4s outer screen isn't as big or wide as the mate xs than definitely not getting it

Great video as always. I would definitely get it if it was available and I could afford it 😂. Just a small correction: the dual punch hole in the front screen is not for a depth of field camera, its for 3 things: the front camera that has both a wide and ultra wide view, infrared sensor and 3d depth camera that allows for secure face unlock.

Did Huawei mention anything about a UK release/price? I had Mate20pro and wanted the MateX when it launched in the UK but was worried about the outer fold, so I settled for Fold1, which is still my daily driver. It's great having UK youtubers reviewing these devices but not much point if fellow commoners can't get their hands on these phones.

Nice, informative review as always. I would get this(even without Google Services, as I would just sideload them) as I like the larger outer screen and that it got FANTASTIC cameras unlike the Fold 2. The main barrier and why I won't be getting this is the price, it is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE online($3500+ on eBay) but I am still REALLY IMPRESSED with this and my maybe a few generations ahead I can get this??? 🤔🤔 For now my plan is to get the Fold 2 when the Fold 3 drops and I'll pick it up when it drops to $600-$700. 📱📱🤳🤳❤️❤️❤️❤️

Or visit a Store in person physically, I myself haven't done this yet. The Battery/Camera/Hinge will get more better with future versions of Foldables. I think Foldables are cool. Oppo also made a Rollable Phone, not a Scroll Phone like LG/Others made. Apple sucks now lol

The right and left handed shouldn't be an issue as surely, you can flip the phone and it'll auto rotate wouldn't it? Otherwise, it's such a shame as it's a mighty fine device and would have given the Samsung Z Fold a decent run for its money.

Love the Huawei products for me p40 pro was one of the best phones I have owned but the lack of gms for me was the killer. Looking forward to seeing harmony os and what that brings but I agree definitely hard to use the os at the moment especially if you are missing apps you need.

there's another effective workaround with complete use of google services called Gspace from the Huawei App Gallery you should look into it you might switch over to a Huawei Phone

Kindof a weird time for these video since the os standpoints going to be out of date tonight with the harmony os release. Yes you wont get google apps so thats still on point but a lot of huaweis own apps do the excact same things youtubes basicly the only u dont have a comparable app for but ofcourse like u sayed u can use the web version.

Seems a good idea not to have a selfie camera on the inner screen, aspect ratio is better on front screen than Samsung offerings but I still don’t think it’s happening for the mass market. Too many detractions. Aspect ratio on inner screen, fragility, crease, weight, expense, complexity & cost just off the top of my head!

I loved the pill-shaped cut-out design of the S10+ and now on this Huawei because it looks more futuristic to me. Shame that Samsung went with a centered single-hole design which kind of throws things off and is more distracting.

It's awesome and I absolutely love it BUT I have used the P40 and P40 lite (both phones without GMS so no Google) and there is indeed a lot possible like through Aurora Store and Gspace but it still has it's limitations and that makes it very difficult for me to use it as a daily primary phone. I wish I could though because camera software and battery are amazing on both phones! I really hope they'll be able to work with this on upcoming phones. Can't wait to see what will come next week!

Yes, Spot On!! I'm a Galaxy Z Fold 2, User and when the phones closed the display is to narrow. I never use the Zfold2 closed... always open... This Is what Samsung should of done. You claimed the thickness change favors a right-handed person. That's wrong. You're not likely to "one hand" the phone when open. You're likely to hold it with the left hand and use your right hand to browse, pick things, etc. I also noticed that when going to landscape you're left holding the skinny panel and the thick panel is left dangling in the air. The thickness of this phone is exactly the opposite of what it needs to be.

I have the Samsung fold 1 and could never go back to a normal. I'm waiting for the fold 3 if it has pen support. I think this phone looks better in every way over the fold 2 but the Google support is a big issue

I returned zfold 2 because it was too heavy which was 280gm Xs is 290gm which is heavier. Folding phones are not for regular people

You have multiple selfie cameras if that is your thing. The front display has two and you can use the far superior rear cameras as well! TBH that is very low on my wishlist and I prefer the uninterrupted view on the bigger display.

@@andyH_England Whilst I agree there is no dearth of camera on this one. Assume you are wanting to do a selfie call on the big screen , you cant, so that's a restriction. You won't realise it at first but once you have it in your hand and there is a restriction, you will feel constricted. This is a phone of excesses at this price point, it cant slack anywhere.

@@lichaozhang1103 the 1s I saw were $5,220 USDA. They were brand new, still in the box, on eBay. You can't get them from Huawei's website, because they're sold out. The Huawei XS are going for $2,300 USDA.
