The matepad pro is awesome👏👏. And I totally agree Ben it's not the end of the world if you don't have GMS on a, tablet. However, yes the Ui does look like a clone of the iPad. Which is good in terms if useability, but not so great for Huawei image overall. But I really like it non the less, because of that top notch hardware. 👍👍 Great content Ben as always🙂 ✌✌

The amount of gadgets you get in hands are simply ridiculous 😘. You are basically my first go to channel for any gadgets released by Chinese companies.

I am in the Huawei ecosystem and all I can write is about my experience and it has been A+, in fact, better than Samsung or Apple from my time. I have Freebuds, Matebook X Pro, Mate 20X and the Matepad. They have all been great. This looks nice but maybe expensive as quoted. Hopefully, if there is a Global release we will get some good deals as I would prefer to be out of the Google ecosystem with all their privacy issues. Harmony OS is familiar-looking! That is not a bad thing for me. The problem is that if it looked like an Android UI no doubt the US would cause further problems? It is built from the ground up based on a multi-kernel structure so is flexible. If a device needs to support Android apps, this specific can be added. It opens it up from the IoT and as we know newer OS'es can always build out the issues that Android/iOS have been plagued with. Early days but a great start and hopefully the UK will see this?

Thanks for sharing. Huawei gadget are built to last for years. My Mate 20 Pro is still running pretty well after 3 years. I would consider buying their Mate 40 Pro soon

It really takes time to build a good Os, Android and IOS have been there for over 10 years. So I believe over time the Os will get better and better.

Really good looking device. I don't know if Huawei will ever release a Windows tablet since I kind of need to use some Windows applications regularly. However, this could still be a solid purchase if availability and pricing aren't a huge issue.

I will support Huawei and i will buy all the different products, that they have. I already said to my family and friends, when in doubt buy a Huawei equipment. You won't regret it. I've had a Note 20 Ultra and sold it, i had P20 Pro, Mate 20 Pro, P30 Pro, and i have the Mate 40 pro without GMS. It's good to be free from google. You haters should try it, some day. The next one is the MateView. I also had Matebook 13, watch fit , band, router etc... Anyway nice video as always Ben.

Great video as usual but please dont spread misinformation saying that harmony OS is still basically android. That is 100 % not true. It is compatible with android apps for now, but wont be in the future when it no longer needs to, and it was built from the ground up on a completely different kernel. it uses something call micro kernels that allows a much lower system requirements to run (that is why it can run on anything from.smartwatches to fridges to smartphones) and have a much lower lag and faster connection between devices.

Looks like Harmony OS on MatePad Pro has a new landscape mode view, instead of the legacy desktop mode on previous MatePad. Can the desktop mode still be activated?

Harmony OS has no relation or similarity to Android. Harmony OS is Kernel based like UNIX and Linux. Android is somewhat based on LINUX too. I say somewhat because its protocol is different from Linux though it is open source like Linux and Harmony OS too. But that is where the similarity ends. Harmony OS runs Android Apps not because it is based on Android, but because it is a multi-platform operating system. Harmony OS runs also iOS and Windows apps with no problem, but that does not mean that it is based on iOS or Windows OS. In fact Harmony OS runs applications of other OS's more efficiently and utilizes less memory than the original Operating System these apps were intended to work upon. This is also the case with purely Linux based OS's. What makes Harmony OS most special is its security. In fact Harmony OS is the most secure OS to date, as secure as UNIX Operating system upon which it is based. Therefore, no more spying by the US government through your Android devices or iOS.

But here’s the question how good or updates going to be for these apps?

There is one more function, that is you can connect the Tab with your Huawei notebook, then you can share resources from both devices. you can use the touch screen to draw things on your laptop or simply move a picture from your tab to your computer by drag and drop.
