Definitey the P50 Pro. The P40 Pro is too old. The P40 Pro+ would be considerable against the P50 Pro otherwise the P50 Pro beats the P40 Pro for sure and gets longer updates as well

Not sure if its clearly better hardware. Huawei is innovating in variable aperture and tele lense and can definitely keep up and hands down beat Xiaomi and co.

Because sensor too tiny and larger sensor with pixel binning and computational photography offers better quality. Also 10x is not so popular actually.

Same, I've had my P40 Pro Plus since release date and use it as much as a camera as anything else. As far as I know there's still no other phone available with a 10x optical zoom which means the images are still croppable with no image loss, I've even got recognizable images of the ISS as it flew over my area😮 and the phone has 5G which I make use of if I travel about. It's such a well made beautiful phone that I have no need to change, any other flagship device from any brand available today will be a definite downgrade. I did hear the other day that Huawei have now developed their own 5G chipset and a P60 Pro Plus is coming out soon, hopefully getting a Europe release...fingers crossed it'll have the 10X zoom...or even higher😂

I'm curious because the P40 Pro uses Harmony OS, while the Mate 40 Pro still uses EMUI, which makes me curious whether the OS affects the camera results

That's what I hate. How could I pay 1k+ dollars for a new phone to improve some stuff and to get worse something. That makes no sense. 2 years later and all that money, at least you should get same capabilities in some areas, but not less. I refuse to pay for that. And I love photos and Videos.

With x10 camera we need much more space or we will lose a lot of quality at the shorter focal lenght. Also at night one bigger camera will give much better result.

@glutworkout9774 obviously yes, but i would rather have 2 tele lenses(like samsung s23u) with smaller sensors, than only x3,5 with bigger sensor. Also my point is , there is no strategy with huawei adding their tele lenses, everything seems random. I bet they will ditch that x3,5 periscope in next series and will come with a new one.

Understand that sensor size while extremely important is not the only place one can improve upon. Better glass , wider aperture and newer sensor technologies all push the p60 pro far beyond that of the p40+ than what the sensor size differences would have you believe

I disagree with you. Dynamic Range, Bokeh, Details got a lot more improved with todays sensors especially those which feature pixel binning

@@lltechview just... Try to get you hands on a LG Nexus 5x. I'm mentioning this because I owned it and I know how capable it is. I bet it will be really interesting and useful for some people to see how much better a decade old sensor is...
