Unboxing the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro, including full setup, tour of the specs and features, and a side-by-side comparison with the original GT2 46mm smartwatch. This premium wearable costs £300 in the UK, so what's changed vs the standard model and is it worth the higher price? Stick around for my full review of the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro, after I've been testing it for a couple of weeks.
This latest Android smartwatch is a proper rival to the Ticwatch Pro 3 and the other best 2020 wrist rockets, offering incredible battery life like the rest of Huawei's GT2 series. But here you get a titanium and ceramic design, plus sapphire glass for added toughness.
You once again have a decent range of fitness and exercise tracking tools, including over 100 types of workout now recognised and supported. Meanwhile the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro sports a new golf and skiing option compared with the original 46mm model. And you also have route tracking and weather warnings, plus advanced heart rate monitoring.

Really looking forward to the full review. No only real downside of this device (same as other huawei watches) is the inability of replying to notifications. That is literally the only thing that has stopped me from getting one so far. I currently have a fitbit and would love to switch but I reply to notifications constantly on my watch

Hi, for the sleep tracking accuracy, is it any different between gt2 and gt2 pro? I have a gt and some how it can’t detect my aware up at night now.

I ran 3.7 Miles with my gt2 today and I went out at 96 percent battery . I played music for 35 minutes running from the watch on ear Budds and I had gps on and I came back at 92 percent battery . Excellent watch

Great review and comparison. Do you know if the GT2 Pro has NFC? I read it HAS but also read that contactless payment (in the UK) is not possible. If there is an NFC chip inside, will it maybe become able to be used for contactless payment in the future (via an update?) Thanks if you can help with this!

Love the charging dock with the USB port instead of cable. Why aren't other companies doing the same? You can use it with your own USB cables and its much easier to store or hide

Was literally looking at this in the early hours off this morning. I Currently have the gear s3, been a great watch but more features are stopping to work because im using on the huawei p30 pro. Do we know whether the gt 2 pro allows you to read and reply to messages such as Facebook, WhatsApps etc? I find this very handy on my gear s3. Also why such a small selection of watch faces with huawei? But i really really like the look of the pro 😊

I just purchased the GT2 and love it. Personally for me i dont think the little extra's is worth the extra $$ and the fact i actually love the design of the GT2's sportier look in black, very very similar look to the GW3 which i was tossing between. In the end the battery life did it for me in comparison the the HUGE price diff and one day battery of the GW3, plus i have the GW 46 mm which i think is better battery wise that the 3. 24 hours in im loving my GT2 ;-) Ty for your video's very informative and if i may add it was your review that prompted my to get the GT 2 so Cheers :-)

I got the watch 2 a couple years back. Why did I have to use wear OS to get the bloody thing to work? You just simply connected to Huawei health? Great review BTW.

this is exactly the "pair" I'm considering right now and have seen/heard plenty of critical complaints about both GPS and hear rate accuracy of Huawei/Honor smartwatches, hence favoring the Garmin Venu, that is amongst the best in those categories, just dig the Huawei design much more... well...

I'm kinda late but for anything with a battery your best bet is to charge them right before they turn off, at like 5-10%,20 if you feel like it, is the best

Looks and acts the part. But during the the short time yl it took you to day that the heart rate sensor is more accurate it jumped between 60->90->70 bpm. I mean, maybe it's reasonable that it can't tell right away, but it sure didn't feel reassuring. I would love to get a good reason to not pay a premium for a Garmin with half of that smart-feel but I would need to be able to trust the fitness functions.. What's your thoughts guys ?

@@RobTurpTv I have the standerd gt2 if you don't care about reply to messages and don't care about being able to download additional apps that Huawei make then I would just get the G2 when it's half price but if you want to use the camera shutter and blood pressure don't get the watch as it can't check blood pressure even though my cheap $45 can and it can also be used to take pictures were the g2 forces you to buy a new Huawei phone if you want to use it to take pictures

I was hoping the pro would be a heavy hitter to challenge the galaxy watch 3. Guess not. I'm using the gt 2 46 mm. The pro is just a slight upgrade but nothing major changes in terms of software or big capabilities. It's like my gt 2 changing into a new suit🤔😊 One big change now it's able to do wireless and that's all I grasp the rest it's either don't appeal to my daily usage. Hopefully battery life is better. My gt2 can take heavy usage close to a week without charge and it's already a year old.

Does anyone know if the GT2 watch straps can be used on the GT2 Pro? A lot of replacement strap options have not updated their marketing info, so whether this is the case is unclear. Also on the Huawei website, it is unclear, and don't mention compatibility with other GT2 straps marketed on the website.
