HUGE Craters ! A New Huge Lava Eruption in Iceland. Geldingadalur Volcano Eruption 2021. New vents has opened at the eruption site in Geldingadalur. The new openings that have now apeared are all inside the area that experts consider to be a danger area. In the area, it is most likely that more fissures will open without notice with sudden lava flow. Huge gas acumulation makes the site a very dangerous place.

Icelanders will have the great honor in possibly naming these mini volcanoes/fissures. In the vicinity of this area, I hope they get called something epic. I just cannot believe how much magma has spilled out from the cracks and it's been about a month now and still shows no sign of slowing in a couple of areas. Magma is definitely hot since it is inside the chamber. Lava is defined as magma which comes on the surface of the volcanic vent when it erupts.

Geldinadalur is not where the volcano is. It is near Grindavik.
