Hey, I'm sure your Japanese is better than you think, but you'll get better I'm sure. The most important thing is to use it and try to have conversations with people, it is really hard, to begin with, and you'll make plenty of mistakes, but you'll learn a lot and hopeful make more friends on the way :)

@@calumettles4030 thanks man, it means a lot to me. I agree, conversing in the language your learning is important but I unfortunately don’t have many opportunities to do that. I’m trying to find a way to talk more often, maybe take a page out of connors book and go on a JP server and use the voice chat. Bruh I not dissing on Connor but he’s been there in Japan for what about a year and a half now? And he speaks literally n5 lvl Japanese. And kyo Chan is speaking Japanese that any Japanese learning person can understand. If Connor is serious about learning, He would’ve spoken much better than this. He’s been living in the native speaking country for a long time and can speak Japanese at that lvl is not that impressive. Again I’m not mocking Connor, it’s just that people are so impress by his Japanese for no reason. If you are Japanese learner and you’ve been studying for three months, you pretty much understand what they are saying. It’s just ppl with no Japanese experiences are impressed by this. And I guess you haven’t learned Japanese yet cause why are you impress by his Japanese? It’s literally beginner Japanese he’s speaking.

He and Garnt learnt hiragana and katakana one month into their stay. He's not "serious about learning Japanese", whatever that means, he learns it as his own pace, absorbing what he wants or needs, because at the end of the day, he doesn't even need the language, he's privileged enough to be surrounded by english-speaking individuals, in the biggest and most multicultural city in the country with a job that requires him no human interactions whatsoever unless he wants to.
