More ideas for the house: replace some of the wall-to-wall carpets with hardwood or light-colored marble, add color with furniture and artwork, use blackout curtains in the master bedroom, add a small table with flowers or something in the entryway to liven it up a bit, replace the runner on the stairs with one that doesn't change color based on the direction of the fibers, and add lighting fixtures in rooms without them for nighttime. I may like interior design too much
