I got a cheap c91 48v 17ah 1200w peak it does 35mph right out the box. Daily commute is 20 miles back and forth. Still have a quarter charge when I get home going full throttle for the vast majority of my ride. I slapped a super 73 seats on it with some cafe clip on handlebars and a small windshield. Been a lot of fun

I bought two 1200 watt 48 volt kits for a standard 26" mtb for $1k for both kits; it took 3 months to get them but the battery cells were Sony and they last all of 60 miles on a 24 hour charge and will go 25 mph continuous.

Here's an idea for a show guys. Get a silent running diesel generator, run it on old veggie oil and use that as a recharger. It'll be a completely sustainable vehicle which is right on par with modern thinking.

I think Segway measures the range with it on the lowest speed/power settings. A lot of brands do this when measuring battery life for their devices.

Look at horsepower logic youtube channel he has a surron that does 90! Jack the owner knows where to get upgraded batteries and controllers for this bike. He shows all the parts he uses and who makes them and how to get them. He reviewed the surron at stock and the range it got was impressive.

I use a solar power generator. GoPower plus. Small, no noise. Charge Whenever I Stop. Don't know if a passive charge will overheat it.

the belt drive upgrade makes it even quieter. battery upgrades are a must with the cheapest bikes. thats just how it is. the surron is the class of the field, segway rebranding is no bad thing.

Clip the GREEN WIRE in the wire harness for the battery and install a standard 2 pole switch, now you can turn the governor on and off with a simple flick of a switch and she'll be MUCH more fun ;)

Have you done any research/reviews on trikes? Electric or gas bicycle trikes? I'm disabled so it's not really safe for me to ride 2 wheelers. Mobility scooters are great but very slow to get anywhere outside. An affordable electric trike might be pretty awesome and useful!! Affordable being a key word here though. It's very expensive to be disabled!!!! Thanks 👍👍

Sur Ron Light Bee X $3,600 Do not buy this from Segway (X160 or X260)! This is a product originally sold by Luna Cycle for over $1k less than the X260. Just like you said during the video, Segway just threw a bunch of money at the production company (Sur Ron) so they can slap their name on it, make bogus range and power claims, and rip people off. Sean, buy the "X260" version from Luna and support an American company. They only charge $100 more than the weaker Segway version you just bought! I've owned 10 street motorcycles, dual sports, and dirt bikes. This bike is amazing and is the most fun I've had on 2 wheels. Been able to take them to local regional parks and trails where I could/would never take a dirt bike. Absolutely worth every penny buying from Luna Cycle. They ship in 2 weeks, their customer support is A1 and they sell extra batteries, parts, and also make all sorts of aftermarket upgrades for the bike. No reason to buy from anywhere else!

@D They were originally exclusively sold in the US by Luna for years, that was the agreement with Sur Ron. Then Segway threw a bunch of cash at Sur Ron so they could undercut that deal. On top of that, Segway claimed they spent "years researching and developing" the X260 and boasted bogus range claims. Everyone in the original community knows all they did was slap their badge on it and make an app. All the people who buy from Segway and join our groups quickly find out they made a mistake buying from them. They paid extra for long shipping times and terrible customer support. Now we hear they're also throwing money at channels and magazines to have them give disingenuous reviews of the bike. Nothing but shade coming from Segway.

I added a generator like that about 10 years ago, Better to wire the generator to the output side of the battery parallel with the motor, Otherwise you risk breaking something.I put a switch on mine so i could shut it off and on.

All segway does is rebrand other people's products. That's a suron and there is tons of aftermarket support. Buddy of mine rides up some gnarly hills with that thing. Battery lasts like half a day of riding so grab an extra battery or higher capacity. He's done so many upgrades to it controller, battery, rear sprocket, longer swing arm, custom rear plastics.
