Same here, carried a dufflepack all through middle and high school, only used my locker for my winter coat, finally retired the bag when the top handle started to fray apart after five years. Still got the shoulder strap though! Most recently I've been using the ifix it messenger bag and it couldn't even fit what the LTT bag can yet it always felt so heavy. I thought I might be overhyping the LTT backpack but it holds more than I imagined and feels way better to wear than I could have imagined.

This is a really well designed backpack and probably would be the last I owned, but for over $300 CAD, I still wish for slightly more features. I know Linus is always open to any improvements, so please hear me out! I could add that the sunglass holder can be placed below the outer pocket, that way it can have a hard shell. Having it at the bottom is an unexpected area to have sunglasses for thieves, and having vertical zippers would allow you to quickly store/retrieve them without any awkward arm reaching or removing the backpack. Also, one of the selling points in bags especially in Asia is blade-resistant bottoms. It’s common for thieves to slice the bottom of the bag and loot your stuff before you get a chance to react. One final addition could be outer clips or straps to carry large objects, I really enjoy the two straps on my backpack currently so I can carry around a small skateboard. To go above and beyond, I would have a collapsable expansion area on the main compartment if the issue was storing bulky items. I hope Linus sees this! It’s a great bag, but for that price point it has to be absolutely perfect.

An actually sharp knife will cut through those "blade-resistant" bottoms like a hot knife through butter. This thing, with two layers of polymer-based fabric will be just as resistant (if not more-so) than those special bottoms. Also, I would simply say this.....if somebody is getting close enough to you to swipe anything/damage your bag, you're doing something wrong. I do not allow people to get that close to me, ever. At least not without me having my bag in view and holding it.

Really well designed bag but personally I'd love to see a revision of the backpack with an external easy access pocket for water bottles. Might feel like a nitpick but that was the deal breaker for me even though I absolutely wanted to get this bag. All my other bags allow quick access to my water bottle on the outside so having to set this bag down, unzip it, take out the water bottle, drink and then put it back in seemed to inconvenient for me and ended up being why I didn't get it.
@raymondedel6544
@raymondedel6544 Рік тому
I'll add my side being that I don't mind it. Other then that, it’s got like 2000+ miles to cover to get to you at least. Like I don’t even work at LTT but even I can see logically why they’d have to pay more. It’s not LTT’s fault they have import taxes into the EU, Euro’s buying power fell, and they have to pay to get someone to carry it to them. I wouldn't mind having to wait for a special eu wave, where things would just be on backorder with a larger shipping window. There are businesses that do nothing else but order fulfillment for stuff from China. So that they'd just need to ship a container from China to the warehouse in Europe from where they could ship the backpacks way cheaper for the customer with lower shipping fees and less import tax struggles. I've bought 3 backpacks over the last 15 years and what I've wanted out of a backpack has changed each time and seeing as I've spent about $40 each I haven't felt too guilty about changing them around. First one was for school and I didn't want it too big so I wasn't carrying around too much. Then I got a larger one so I could carry more travelling. I do not want my stuff, laptops, etc. to fall out of the backpack when the backpack tilts over. I want stuff secured. 2) The internal water bottle holder. I know this was a coin-flip of a decision, but I think it might have been better to have an expandable pocket to hold the water bottle. I use this spot to hold my small umbrella. I like the holder being inside the backpack since it gives an overall CLEAN look, but for quick access it is a pain to open the backpack to access the water bottle/umbrella. I still LOVE the pocket. 3) The front section of the backpack is huge, which I love! I think it might to great to create an "organizer' that is down facing and gives tall "slots". I know you have the tech sack, which I will order soon, but I think it would be wonderful to give users an optional SLIDE IN organizer that has verticle cublicles, so items can be slid in and out. Maybe the organizer if adjustable to people can add/remove sections or special pockets/holders. And when someone doesn't need it then it can be removed to allow larger objects.

Would LOVE to see the love and attention the team poured into something slimmer for a proper everyday carry. (targeting 6 to 7" depth instead of the 11.5") This was clearly made for the North American traveling market. Europe's travel sizes are comically smaller. A proper gap at the bottom of the electronics compartment to protect them from placing a heavy bag down on a hard surface. (or have Linus give a better demonstration of the internal webbing). Nice design but I got some idea maybe for the next generation of linustechtips backpak. I'm a college student that daily drive or should I say rides motorcycle to campus. So, a good quality backpack with great ergonomic, function, durability, weather and shock protection is a must from me. First, weather protection. It's essential from where I came from since it rains a lot and most people uses motorcycle to go to work, and we've found the best solution. RAIN COVERS! It's so light, compact and more effective than any other premium waterproof material since it create another layer so condensation from the rain have another layer to go through before it reach your devices. Removable rain cover with its own dedicated compartment in the bottom also help your backpack clean since you only need to wash the rain cover rather than the entire bag and separate your dirty covers from the inside of your backpack. a rain cover also mean covering your bag to any other means of damage like dust, dirt or oil when you're exposed to the weather. For ergonomics, this 35 liters backpack is going to be very uncomfortable to carry since it doesn't have a HIP BELT. Other than motorcycling, I also go hiking a lot and I've carry 20, 30 pounds of stuff up and down mountains. Hip belt are a must to transfer the weight to your stronger bigger leg muscle rater than breaking your shoulder not having it. It also adds stability when you combine it with supporting rigid frame. Laptops especially gaming laptops weight a lot and surely can damage your spine in a long run if you carrying it wrong. If you dont like it, make it removable! you can also adds easy-to-reach pocket to your hip belt like carrier style hiking backpack to carry small but frequently used items like wallets, keys, lighter, or multitool. Another great idea for increasing the ergonomic of the backpack is to transfer heavier stuff closer to your back, by using COMPRESSION STRAPS so it doesn't tip you back if it's filled to the brim. It's great way to accommodate wide range of need and stuff without necessarily compromising ergonomic, an adjustable volume backpack. BACK SWEATS. the most effective way to get rid of back sweat I've ever tried when I hike is using a trampoline styled back system, let alone air, a wind breeze can pass your back easily using these bad boy, google it! Next, usability. Most of backpack here have built in battery pack hub so you can plug in your own battery pack to its built in slot in your backpack so you can plug your cable OUTSIDE of your backpack. So, you can still use your phone OUTSIDE of your backpack while you charging it with your battery pack INSIDE of your bag. This way, you can store your phone in your pants pocket where it belong, while charging it from your backpack at the same time. Mind-blowing right? Next. I notice a most of tech guy uses glasses including me because we stare our screen longer than we supposed to. Some backpack include a dedicated hard-shell compartment for glasses so you dont crush your glasses under all of your device. Nitpick and bells and whistles. You need to put external water bottle pocket, so if your bottle accidentally opened its not when it's inside your bag ruining all of your electronics. There's a whistle sternum straps buckle adding another functionality to your bag without breaking the bank. And your anti-shock system for laptop compartment could use elastic material so it reduces the momentum of impact for your laptop inside your bag.

I think the backpack looks great and seems extremely well thought out, but for $250USD I also can't find any information on any warranty outside of the 30 day return period. What if a strap, handle or something breaks - will there be any repairs/replacements? If so, how long into ownership could someone expect that to be honoured? Other backpacks in this price point (and sometimes less) come with lifetime warranties. Would be a bummer to drop this kind of cash on the backpack, have something happen in the first few months of ownership and be basically out of luck.

They really should just do a photoshoot with all (post-probation) employees that are willing, and just post all the pics in a thumbnail gallery in a separate section on the store page. Hey I just bought this backpack been watching for a while and I'm glad I could finally support you by buying a cool backpack. I couldn't figure out how to leave a comment for the WAN show. You're also the first youtuber I've bought something from. Next I'll get some stuff from Philly D lol

This bag is so ADHD-proof. By the time he talked about the front pocket being designed to open like that because you couldn't accidentally spill things open, I realized I'd never had a bag so completely designed for all the little ADHD forgetfulness costs in my life until now. Seeing this bag moved me in a way I didn't expect. Thank you Linus, for designing a bag for people like us.

I really hope that some day, you will bring your store to the EU. I really want this and some other goodies but it gets pretty damn expensive with the shipping costs, tariffs and tax added. One man can dream...

It will cost only 30-50€ less even if there is an EU store. For the simple reason that LMG is not an EU company

This bag genuinely looks great. So many small features and options that really add up. The problem I have is the price. $250 is way too expensive imo. I'm sure in the long run, it would be worth it but so would other cheaper bags that come with a warranty just in case they don't hold up.

Beautiful backpack and design, really loved it. Great video also. The only thing keeping me down is that I'm from Argentina and 300usd it's like a whole month of work or more.

This looks great! I could have used this over my last 4 years of college, but if I end up carrying around a lot of stuff for work I'll definitely pick one up! (screwdriver I'm picking up day one though) Additionally - hearing the $250 price tag earlier sounded a little high, but after this video it 100% makes sense. This thing is made to last.

Yeah my current bag was 150$ its a camelback that broke in the way linus described. This bag is too bulky for my use but dang its a good value.

There's one little thing you've missed, BUT it can be a detachable section in the big compartment. Something to carry a DSLR or mirrorless camera with one or 2 lenses... THAT would be the ultimate, multifunctional, lots of banana for scale backpack...
@TheFatVeganOne
@TheFatVeganOne Рік тому
The pockets in the tech compartment could easily be used for that. Have 1 on the body of the camera (Depending on size, although if you're running a 500mm you're not using a tech bag). Then have one in one of the compartments you'd use for your laptop charger. Personally even if I was working I'd only need 1 body, maybe a spare, which could easily be held in this bag in several places, followed by a lens on one of the bodies, normally slung over my should tbf but it could fit in the bag; the other would be within the bag itself in the place he puts the power bank as I'd put mine in the front or side pocket tbf. A voila, problem solved. Also; if you're running and gunning such as in Motor-sport photography you're either going to have a camera harness, or one camera slung and the other stowed. This bag could easily accommodate this without being as big and cumbersome as some Manfrotto bags

It really is an epic backpack. Came back to this video for a refresher before travelling. Expensive, but you might end up handing it down to your children.
