As soon as I made this cutter for myself, I immediately received orders for the same devices. It turned out to be both easy to make and an ingenious device that makes work easier and helps to cope with cutting the foam.
Friends, my name is Renat! I am the author of the CraftMaster channel.
On this channel, I show everything that I did with my own hands.

I wish that all you people putting videos up like this would show the finished tool in use first and then show how to make it. Then I wouldn't have to forward to the end to see if I am interested enough to see how it is made.

That’s a great idea for building fiberglass rectangular tubes. There was once a product called “duct board” which was fiberglass ductwork & some of the fabricating tools were quite expensive for working with it. Also, the duct board had lots of loose fibers that would get into the air streams of buildings & homes because it wasn’t lined with any sort of a coating. The fiberglass panels would do the same thing, have way better insulating qualities too!

Thanks for this video. I will be working with polyiso insulation soon. I will have to make a lot of cuts. I think I’ll make a simplified version of this. Most of my cuts will be straight cut and a utility knife blade doesn’t cut 2 inch foam in a single, clean cut.

I like the way Craftmaster uses the compound miter saw, his clamping method no risk.
@SteveWhiteDallas
@SteveWhiteDallas Рік тому
You don't think it would be even safer to use the saw as it was intended, thereby eliminating the cuts with the boards not up against the fence? Those are not safe cuts. If for any reason the blade failed to cut the wood, those clamps would fail. They can't match the power of the motor. the wood would move, possibly being thrown across the shop, and/or the cutting head would surge in the direction of the operator. Safely cutting angles is the whole purpose of the turning cutter head and table.
@soapdude1

I just want to say I appreciate your showing all the clamping on the miter saw. Helps someone like me who doesn't really know what they're doing.
@Tuncle54
@Tuncle54 2 роки тому
How about learning from someone who actually knows how to use one! Not this guy. The saw is designed to rotate for accurate angle (miter) cuts, but instead of using it that way, he wastes all kinds of time measuring to cut simple, 45° angles! Wtf. On top of that, I found myself cringing at the untidy worksite, not because it looks horrible (even tho it does), but because it’s the kind of work site someone eventually gets hurt on. Loose boards lying around to trip over, never mind the potential that some of those have embedded nails sticking out that someone is gonna step on and end up with a nasty hole in his/ her foot. I know, I’ve been in the construction business for 40 years and recognize this half- arsed behavior for what it is- either complete ignorance, or willful stupidity that results in injury or even worse, depending on how badly it gets out of control. Do yourself a favor and find a different channel to “learn” from, if that’s your goal.
