In this episode, I wake up in a small village in the Central African Republic, where I asked to spend the night, because night fell in the jungle and I had nowhere to go. The villagers and their chief immediately took me in, and insisted I park my motorcycle inside the house as well. The people in this part of the Central African Republic are some of the best people I've ever met - and I will never forget their hospitality!

It's funny how people with so little can be so generous and (seemingly) happy, yet rich folks here in the west can be so suspicious of strangers (i.e. what does that stranger really want from me??) and unhappy because they always (seemingly) want more. Yes, quite the lesson!

"You are safe with us." --That's what the man in the village told Noraly. That's a clear sign of an advanced civilization. Such empathy does not come from religion, education, or wealth. @@vp4744 I didn’t say there was anything bad in the video. You watched the video and extrapolated an idea to the general human experience that such empathy is not religion but from humanity and lived experience. I countered and said that if you think that humanity is the source for empathy then you have to apply the same to the evil in the world. You removed religion as the foundation of their empathy and kindness and replaced it with humanity so ok in that case humanity is the cause of both good and evil then. If you doubt that there is evil in general then you must either be willfully ignorant or sheltered and naive. If you’re the later then I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the world is filled with much evil.

What Noraly is showing through her Africa episodes is that the western media 's portrayal of Africa and its people are all wrong. The general population is kind and treat foreigners with respect. Sure there are street gangs and rebels running around but they are not the majority. It also show where people have very little material worth but they have good spirits. What struck me is how we enjoy watching the adventures and how we will not forget them, but everyone who meets Noraly, feels like this. The children of the village which took Noraly in for her safety (the chief said: "you will be safe here") and fed her and kept her safe, will eventually have children of their own and tell them stories about the time a white woman, who was riding her motorbike all by herself, came to stay overnight. How she smiled and laughed. How pale her hair was and how blue her eyes were, and with a wave and a smile, she rode away. The men with their canoes, will remember the lone white woman with the lovely smile, crossed the river in their boat one day. It had never happened before and has never happened since. So as much as we will remember Noraly's adventures, all those she meets will remember Noraly.

I wouldn't say what the western mass media wants people to believe. I'm an African American and the western media here rarely covers Africa. The media so rarely covers Africa that some of my long held beliefs about Africa are being destroyed during Noraly's travels. Like most people world wide I thought that Africa was just a hot place year round. Most of us automatically believed that wild animals are roaming everywhere. I can't blame the media for that ignorance because I could have found other sources before now to be enlightened. That's why I stay on UKposts looking at videos of Africa to rid myself of that ignorance.

As a teen in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) I was fortunate enough to be close friends with the African villagers a mile from where I lived. A number of times they fed me and allowed me to stay overnight in one of their huts. Sadly, my father was a different person when drinking whisky and to avoid certain bodily harm I headed for the village. I loved Africa and its people then and still do to this day. It saddens me the people have to endure poverty, corruption and conflict.
