I think that Mouratoglou knew what he was doing. There was a lot of pressure on him because not everyone considered him a great coach, but just a lucky one to coach Serena, who seemed to beat them all without training. Simona played much weaker with him than with Darren Cahill.

I think the way the ITA has behaved is appalling and it's a tradegy that such a superstar is missing from the game. Lots of love from the UK. I will never believe this woman has taken any drugs.

If you were not from a small country like ours and had not absolutely demolished Serena in one of the most flawless Wimbledon womens finals in 2019, this would have been resolved a long time ago. There's never been an athlete (ever) that has been caught doping and came out to say he or she is guilty. They ALL say they're innocent and "didn't know" how the banned substance got into their system. Just saying...

I honestly hope she comes back and wins one more Grand Slam it is almost impossible after the long layoff but it would be an unbelievable comeback

She's worked all her life for tennis. This is destroying her whole life. There should be a 3 strikes you are out policy on testing positive for banned substances. A warning should have been issued and not a ban.

So nice to hear what Simona talks at 4:30 that she has taken distance to the team especially Mouratoglu. Never have understood why she hired him. No matter what fine she will get. The time of process ist way too long. 4 year ban would be unbelievable long. I trust her.

Call me crazy but I totally believe what she is saying.

She did ingest the banned stuff unintentionally, so it means the doping regulator was not wrong for banning her, but the sanction was severe, maybe if it was just one tournament only since it was not a deliberate act! I also understand that they are trying to keep the sport clean! I hope the Court of Arbitration reinstates her, she would have served more than 15 months in March 2024...

Without even opining on Simona, I can’t recall any athlete accused of doping to admit it. It was always given to them without their knowledge by others. It’s just about impossible to convince anybody you weren’t aware you were ingesting it. A hopeless situation, for sure.

Gut instinct is no way did she willingly cheat. However some would say intentionally or not she is accountable . Loved her victory at wimbledon, always loved watching her play. Hope she gets fully cleared.

For those who are saying that she's not guilty, don't you think it's kind of lame to say she's innocent when you don't have enough evidence to disprove the test results, surely she's not the only athlete that's been tested right? the key thing here is that 3 panels of experts have said that there's enough evidence that she intentionally took the banned substance and her defence is that A) it wasn't intentional and B) The quantity was very low? If this is the case, she should be able to submit evidence that she used contaminated collagen, I'll root for ANY athlete who is wrongly accused of doping when they are innocent so, here's wishing that Simona will successfully argue her case and be victorious.

This whole process seems doubly punitive to the player. Does the coach also get banned?

It is inexcusable that she has had to wait so long. In this day and age with the medical technical expertise available, it should have been concluded months ago.

I personally do not doubt Simona's version of events and as a lover of how Simona competes and plays I have been disappointed by each conclusion derived from the tests while you also want to believe the only plausible reason for such a ban be based on undisputable fact. All I can hope is that this young woman remains determined to see it through and that her love of Tennis and competing will outlast the duration of the Ban and I get to see her name on the entries list of WTA events once again and as always be rooting for her.
