Please don't be hurt by those comments. Your videos have actually motivated me to change my life for the better. I always want to learn things like playing guitar for example but it's something I always push to the back of my head or procrastinate on. Seeing you learn skills within one video and always being motivated made me want to do the same. I started doing several things I used to say "I have no time for". I created a mentality that I wanted to live my life without regrets of wishing I did something or wishing I learned something and just do it anyway. I started learning guitar; still a newbie but doing better now than I ever did before. I started studying French and can actually write some sentences. I wanted to learn how to ride a skateboard and I'm planning to do that this summer. I literally created a whole life rule which was "Don't wish you could do that; JUST DO IT and practice until you can learn it." I feel like everyone wants to learn something but always procrastinates or is too lazy or says they don't have time and you really motivated me to start trying to gain all the skills I always wished I had. So thank you.

And the point of this whole thing, in my opinion, isn't to specifically learn how to backflip, or walk on those stilty things, or to shoot a bow and arrow for the rest of your life, these are things to have to constantly work on so you don't forget how to do them, and im sure he's got more productive things to do than to keep his stilt skills up to scratch. I think the point of these videos is to learn how become motivated, to avoid procrastination, to learn how to work through failures, to build confidence, and most importantly, to learn how to to learn, in a way that's best for you. That's what I got from these videos anyway, the improvement of yourself as an entire being, not just specific skills.

I really can't blame you for being scared of back flips. The first and last time I tried a proper back flip I landed on the back of my head while keeping my rolling momentum. Only people who've gone through it will know how painful it is, and how scary it can be. Ever since then, I haven't even thought of trying back flips, or any flips for that matter. I just haven't been willing to risk it.

the thing that impressed me the most is the sheer motivation. I wouldn't be able to do any of those things because of the big mental block and the fear of getting hurt. Just being able to perform all those skills is hella impressive. In the last two years, all I have ever done is stay inside and mentally rot away, while some people are out there, performing all those stuff. Really made me realize that I have wasted all those time on nothing. Damn, I got the motivation to write, the only good skill I have. I mean, I can also dance, but I sort of gave up. I really should pick it up again. Should get my imagination factory up and running and branch out from fan-fictions.

To which I replied it isn't that inspiring to learn something when getting paid to do so. You then replied to THAT asking why I don't try then, which I understood as you saying 'if it's that easy, why don't you do it'. Then I replied something that boils down to 'In this situation, the inspiring thing isn't learning skills, but having a YT channel'. Now you're saying 'exactly' to THAT, as if what you said had this intention contained in the cheeky challenge comment? I don't buy it.

When I got back I had to take at least a week to relearn many of the things I already knew for years. It happens dude, you change, your body changes, your mind changes, just because you need to take some time and a few tries to get back on track doesn't mean you haven't learnt them, you just need to remember them.

Dear whosoever reads this, I want you to know that I love you and care about you so much that the thought of you ending up in hell for eternity horrifies me so I want to share the Gospel with you in case nobody ever has before or you have some misunderstandings. There's no other way for us to be made righteous before God and escape eternal damnation than through the forgiveness which Jesus Christ offers you today freely. If you die tonight, do you know where you're going? Did you know that Jesus Christ is THE only way to Heaven and He loves you? Through Him, God offers you a FREE gift - forgiveness. All you need to do is repent, turn away from your sins and evil ways, from now on put your faith completely in Jesus Christ and be obedient to Him. Biblical explanation of the Gospel: God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. (Matthew 12:30) ''Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.'' He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23) The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). Revelation 21:8 says that all liars will go to hell. For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ - for He lived a sinless life and resurrected. None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). Our carnal mind is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's moral law and it never will (Romans 8:7). We hate the thought of God for the same reason a criminal hates a policeman - we know we have sinned against God and are guilty of it, but we don't want to be damned. Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life, Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16) We aren’t saved based on our good deeds/works, but only by the grace of God through faith. ''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins (past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him. ''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15) ''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19) Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin. While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6) If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually. (John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14) You are born again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36) ''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7) If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousnes - to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God. You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son. ''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17) ''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10) You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ. As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so. In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.'' ''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19) ''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41) ''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21) ''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4) ''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12) Please get right with God and start your relationship with Jesus Christ today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left! "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32) Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you! Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

Oh my god watching you spin a broom handle is scary! I've been doing Color Guard for years and one of the first things we always tell new people trying to sport is to NEVER spin random sticks. If you're spinning a bare pole, you want it to be completely balanced on both sizes as far as weight goes. Even a little bit of electrical tape will throw you off. I bet if you bought a guard pole and tried to spin that, it would be so much easier! Plus, guard poles come with duplicate weights, you can make the pole a bit heavier if it's too light for you.

As an ex-gymnast I completely understand being scared of the backflip. I had huge issues with mental blocks on easy things that I knew I could do and knew were safe but was scared after a bad experience. Some skills I had to just give up all together because it was hurting my mental health to continue trying and frustrating myself when I wouldn't do it. Eventually though I formed a method that worked most of the time. What I would do is I would take a break and come at it with fresh motivation. I would do a small amount of warmup so that I could feel more comfortable, but you can't warm up for too long. The longer you take before you go for it, the harder it is. So after a short warmup, I would have someone count down from 3 and force myself to go on 1. Having someone else count helps take it out of your control and stop hesitation. Usually I could use this to at least get myself to start. Normally my first one would be horrible, but using this strategy I could get myself to just go for it. After that I would just do the count down a few more times and usually I could count it down by myself by then. Many of my friends do modified versions of that but I think it's a good starting point for someone who's scared to do something.

I quit gymnastics over that. I was fine until I read a book about a girl that broke her neck. Back tucks were fine because you go full-circle and the head never comes near the ground, but back handsprings… I just couldn’t make myself land on my hands. Had this insane fear of my arms giving out and just collapsing on my head. Ended up going into swimming which, it turns out, I really enjoyed, so it’s not all bad. I can still do handsprings on a trampoline, but I never made it past that mental block to do on the floor. Oh well.

But I gotta admit, I like his idea of a little half-twist so you could theoretically roll out if things go south… maybe if I’d started with that and gradually worked the twist out… that might’ve helped get me over the block.

So much pain endured. But I eventually got to the point where I was doing back hand springs to back tucks, and doing them off benches and stuff. To this day I still do them every year or so, my most recent time was doing it off a cliff into some water that was about 15-20 feet high! Still so satisfying overcoming that fear!

I used to do trampolining with my cousin and could confidently do back flips on one. One evening I thought it'd be sick to learn to just do it on the ground, no joke, 30mins in the back garden and I landed my first one without spot! Instead of throwing your legs over your head focus on using your arms for rotation and tucking at the peak of your jump, the hardest part is the mental factor! Great effort learning all this stuff bro!

I have learned alot and I always love learning something that brings interest and motivation in me , when i want to learn something i just go for it and the feeling after learning and achieving it is something else , cos only you know how much it means , backflip was one of my favourite to learn ,I learned it but i had no equipment to practice all i had was my sleeping mattress which is horrible to learn on after that i went on to learn alot of skills and flips in just short time at the age of 13 and thn i lost my hunger and self learning motivation in that case , its been decade since I haven’t tried again for my own reasons but watching your video brought back my memories , and this week after years am gonna try to do that again ,cheers

As a baton twirler of 14 years, the stick spinning stuff (#5) was honestly super cool to see. I taught myself for a few years before I got a teacher, and I now almost exclusively twirl bigger staffs. The thing is super dangerous if you lose control, and I have concussed myself once or twice, but once you get it down and can do it like second nature, you feel like a super hero! Almost everything I do with it is second nature now, and it just feels so cool to freestyle stuff in my yard! Highly recommend learning this skill to everyone. Just fun and a cool thing to show friends!

Just a small suggestion in case you want to try it again. Your biggest problem lies in your arms: when you jump for the back flip, your arms are close to your chest, while you should have them as stretched up as possible, pointing to the sky. This is preventing you to reach as high as possible, before you tuck in for the back flip. 1st make some jumps up, vertically, with your arms stretched up. Jump as high as you can. 2nd let yourself fall back to the ground and roll backwards. Do this a few times. Get used to these 2 steps, get your confidence back and then mix the 2 steps. You will get it!
@aaronwolff9433
@aaronwolff9433 Рік тому
No. His biggest problem was that he was jumping on sand... I get that he was doing that to cushion what he saw as his "inevitable" fall, but if you expect to fail, you will. *edit* Didn't watch his 2nd & 3rd attempts before writing this, but they were under an equally stupid environment.
@xxMjopxx
@xxMjopxx 2 роки тому
Love your approach to life! And I can understand your struggle with backflips! A good advice, that helped me a lot for backflips is to look at a fix point when you jump and try to look at it as long as possible before you throw your head back and tuck your knees. This way you jump up higher before you start flipping and don’t waste your energy jumping backwards because you start flipping too early.

The problem that you were having with the back tuck is that you should be trying to jump straight up vertically as high as you can whilst throwing your arms up, then just as you're reaching the peak of your jump, you bring your knees up to your chest and grab them with your arms. If you do this correctly, you will naturally rotate. The problem that most people have is that they try and throw themselves back instead of up. I used to do acrobatics which is why I know this.

This is incredible. Talk about working the best muscle we have. I'd have to say... when I was 230lbs, wheezing while tying shoes... I knew I had to do something. Insert GOLF. Stimulated the mind. Changed my perspective completely on the world. AND I MEAN THAT 100%. now three years in, I'm 180, took up sandblasting as a job to keep myself busy all year round (live in minnesota)... and golf hard in summer. No driving carts until I've walked the 18 hole at least once. Something about walking a course gives you a true feel of how to play it. Try out golf. You have the mindset for it. You'll get so sucked in. I've begun doing anything that is difficult because of that game.

Listen, I doubt you did forget half of them. As a trained neuroscientist (that's brain science if you don't know) I can say that's that entirely how the brain works. Sure you can forget stuff, but that doesn't mean it's completely gone. Like drawing a perfect freehand circle. It comes back a lot faster than what it took the first time, and more than that it's also learning smaller things that you might not realize. Like how fear can stop you, from doing something and how to overcome it, or what ways you best learn a new skill. Even just knowing that you can learn new skills, and that confidence helps to keep you moving is a important lesson. The long story short is that memory isn't a "you remember it, or not." It's a lot more complicated, even if you do "forget it" relearning it is many times easier, simply because of the fact that you know you already have learned it. Anyways, keep up the amazing videos, I'm off to go find something to learn now.
