Есть возможность изолировать маховик от атмосферы это снизит потери на трение . Поверьте что маховик массой 100 кг легко покрутит даже ваш двигатель Стирлинга из пивных банок . Маховик это просто аккумулятор механической энергии и если его ёмкость мала то вы не сможете эффективно использовать ваши двигатели .

Why don't they use ballbearings on crankshafts? In any situation where a constant oil supply can be guaranteed a hydrodynamic bearing, as used in car crank shafts, will give nearly unlimited lifespan. During normal operation, a hydrodynamic bearing has zero wear. It is only during startup and shutdown, when the bearing slows below the speed required to support the bearing loads, that there is any metal to metal contact on hydrodynamic bearings. Why don't semi trucks use diesel generators and electric motors, the way trains do? Why don't all cars use electric motors powered by generators? Why don't we use turbine engines in our cars? Why can't cars use a train engine's method of using a small engine to generate electricity using electric motors to drive the car? Why does the same exact engine produce a different number of horsepower when used in a different car? Sometimes they do. The air cooled Harley Davidson engines all have ball/roller bearing cranks. A lot of the smaller Japanese bikes, especially the single cylinder ones use ball/roller bearing cranks. However, plain bearings are so good for this application that there is no real benefit to ball bearing cranks other than the ability to run in very low oil supply situations, such as two stroke engines. In fact, the ideal lubrication for ball bearings is an oil fog that just only keeps the parts covered with a film of oil, no more. Another thing that journal bearings deal with much better than roller bearings is the cyclic rpm variations of a crank bearing. At the top of the stroke, the connecting rod is spinning the opposite direction of the crank, adding its rpm the crank rpm at the con rod bearing and, at the bottom of the stroke, it is spinning the same direction as the crank, subtracting its rpm from the crank rpm at the rod bearing. This rapid cyclic change in rod bearing rpm can cause roller bearings to start skidding instead of rolling and is a major factor in the redline rpm of the Harley engines. Plain bearings don’t care. Another advantage of plain bearings is that they are very quiet.

Size is key here. At some point you can only get so small of a turbine before it becomes counterproductive. The piston works less efficiently but has a wider range of applications. Why do you think trains are piston driven and not turbine driven? I’ll give you a hint. It has to do with inertia and efficiency.

@@jplxlabelle1681 I'll tell you a secret, but trains run on electric motors. The current comes either from the wires or is generated by a diesel generator, because where the wires are not stretched, it is easier to fill liquid fuel.
