I've always thought that there should be a martial art for a man and woman working together as a team to defeat both a single or multiple attackers. The key is playing to each other's strengths and allowing each individual to amplify the other. The woman is flexible and can do acrobatic jumps, but even more so if the man throws her. The man is powerful, but he has a secondary weapon if he can launch a highly trained human with a knife or sword over your head so that she lands behind you. Then what you gonna do? This sort of martial art would rely on the fact that your entire focus must at all times be on the powerful male because he can end you quickly, but the smaller, more flexible female can dart around in an unpredictable manner and get you from the flank or wherever it is you are vulnerable.

That was my favorite part. He assisted her movement just enough for the transition. You could see the relief and elation in her smile when they nailed it. It seems like they even worked in an extra beat to the routine there, to ensure that she had no light headedness, before making the next move. I think that it was the move that would have been the most visible for the flyer's part.
