First of all, I ripped out all the trim, removed the drawstring and cuffs on the sleeves.
1) I tried on how much length to cut.
2) The main problem is the hole for the belt, I ripped it open, smoothed the interlining and stitched it with a zigzag.
3) Now, to cover this, I cut out pockets from the cut-off part and stitched them so that they were sewn into the side seam.
4) I deepened the neckline and tucked the excess fabric in the front, where the clasp was.
5) I used angora wool for the elastic; last year I sewed a hat out of it, now the leftovers came in handy. It’s more difficult with the zipper; not a single store had the right color, so I bought what I had.
6) First, I sewed the elastic on the bottom of the jacket. To ensure uniform assembly, I made marks in the middle of the elastic band and on the back of the jacket and aligned them. I stretched the elastic and stitched it to the jacket using an overlocker.
7) Using this principle, I sewed an elastic band on the neckline. I laid finishing lines.
8) Attached the zipper with pins, you need to make sure that the fabric on the jacket does not stretch. I stitched one part and did the second part in the same way.
9) I shortened the sleeves by 4 cm and sewed on elastic bands.
Ready!
Now I wear the jacket with pleasure, it is very comfortable and looks its best.
